My first trip to WHL
After a very very long time and an impending divorce I find myself in a position to get to midweek matches starting with tomorrow's trip to spurs......I will be travelling by train on my own.......I have read a few reviews by other away fans that visit.....some good some bad (depending on club)......
Can anybody out there shed some light on how our recent upturn in fortunes has changed the attitude from the spuds fans towards us...??

Re: My first trip to WHL
I don't think it's changed that much Mrwmc, they still hate us.......not as much as we hate them though . I think they (like many teams now) are envious, not of the money, but of the players were attracting and being linked with.
The problem the Spuds have is, despite having a few quid in the bank to spend, no big names are ever likely to be linked with or end up going there.....they are in effect a selling club . It's a sad fact, but true.
Enjoy the game and bring back 3pts for us.

Looking forward to it......I have predicted a 5-2 win for us......along the lines of an earlier thread that we will have to score more than them.......

There's definitely not much love lost between us and the spuds. I still hate them for 1981, even though rationally I should be narked at Tommy Hutch for the own goal that took us to the replay in the first place.

Annoying isn't it, the only goal that they ever show from that game is Villa's goal but you are right McKenzies goal was a screamer from about 25 yards out.

Re: My first trip to WHL
Spurs fans appear to be envious of our wealth. They bleat that we are ruining football with our signings & paying so much in wages then in the next breath they are wishing for player x y& z then have a go at their chairman when said players join other clubs for more in wages. Bloody envious hypocrites.

I was in Tesco in Enfield earlier this week and a couple of Neanderthals in front of me were discussing between them selves about going to the lane on Wednesday to get themselves a few Mancs.
If that's true take care tonight

Great win tonight, best away performance of the season
Thought they really wanted it tonight
Was it a pen and was the goal scored from the free kick offside?
Like a drowned fucking rat, thought it rained in Manchester

Don't think it was a pen but can see why it was given
Goal was offside but wasn't Dawson as the ref said. It was Adebayor
Superb win

There is a lad who has been to most games at our house since the Bayern game, and we've won every time!
We are going through the process of building an extension just to move him in!
