Long term contracts
I am bit worried that we have so many aging players on long contracts. Quite a few players will be on big money deals until they are 33 or even 34. They will be reluctant to move on when their time comes because of these lucrative contracts. Will we ever learn?

Just picking a few...
SUMMER 2018
Stevan Jovetic (02/11/89)
Aleksandar Kolarov (10/11/85)
Edin Dzeko (17/03/86)
SUMMER 2019
Samir Nasri (26/06/1987)
Eliaquim Mangala (13/02/1991)
David Silva (08/01/86)
Vincent Kompany (10/04/86)
Sergio Aguero (02/06/88)
Yaya and Sagna will be 34 when their contracts run out. Silva, Kompany and Kolarov will be 33, Nasri and Deko will be 32.
That's pretty old and probably all will be getting past it if they stay til the end.

lampard is 36 bet Chelsea wish they'd given him another year. it is all about staying fit and having the desire. Hate to say it but taggart managed giggs & scholes well into their late 30's.

Re: Long term contracts
Was discussing this at work tutha day
Is this the reason why so many now cant be arsed & our performances are so flat?
They've now got nice big fat contracts for 4/5 years. They can relax, their futures are sorted. They don't have to try or impress. They could play shit get dropped sit on the bench do nothing and still get paid their massive wages for the next 5 years
Milner on the other hand hasn't got a LT contract and he is playing better than ever
Altho this doesn't explain why Yaya has been so dire unless he's just doing the opposite of Milner and sulking because he hasn't go the big fat contract

And most of our players are on double what they'd get anywhere else.

Re: Long term contracts
Footballers.....they should all be on a basic wage, max £50k pw...and the rest should be made up on performance-based bonuses.
That'd get 'TLF' moving some more.
