City vs Spuds - live thread
Only around for the first half. Let's hope we stick a few past them early doors.

Hart,
Sagna Kompany Demichelis Clichy
Navas, Lampard, Fernando, Milner, Silva
Aguero
Zabba not even on the bench. Not sure about Lamps starting but everyone else was on international duty.

How much fucking dirtier are spuds going to get? Red card coming

Re: City vs Spuds - live thread
Hart needed too often and but for some bad decisions by spuds attackers, we could be behind. Having said that, Aguero could have had 5 on his own.

Re: City vs Spuds - live thread
Agree...the defence is woeful, but not helped at all by the 2 in front of them, Fernando all over the place.
Navas.....wtf? He's took his man on once all game and put a ball across for Sergio who nearly scored.
IS HE A WINGER OR A RIGHT BACK?
Coz he sure as hell doesn't play as winger.
Right at the end of the first half - 3 v 3 and instead on committing the defender and going past him with his pace, he decides to pass it inside and slows everything back up again.
Sergio...tut tut...awful 2nd penalty...should have had a hat-trick at least in that first half, but what a goal for his first.
Silva looks off the pace and as much as I like Milner - he's been abysmal.
Can see maybe Jovetic on for Milner and TLF on for Fernando at some point.

Re: City vs Spuds - live thread
Just saw their goal again...and Hart once again is called into question.
He's diving to cover his near post before Eriksson has even shot...and just manages to get a foot on it.
How many players go for the near post in that situation? I'd say 2/10....maybe the previous issues he's had with conceding goals from that area at his near post has made him over-compensate...as Eriksson didn't hit it particularly well.
Come on City!!!
Sergio - 2 more!!

Re: City vs Spuds - live thread
What a great game to watch.....for the neutral. But MP must be tearing his hair out at the way we defended.
Clichy, DeM, Vinny and Sagna looked very disorganised during periods of that game and if you see that Spurs had 19 shots at goal....that say's something about how poorly our DFM and Defenders were today.
Tbf to Hart - in the second half, apart from the penalty, he made 2 great saves.
Chelsea just look so much stronger at the back than us. We look like we can be picked apart at times, if the opposition have belief.
Can't wait to get Zaba back, Sagna offers us nothing going forward whatsoever.
Still - 3 big points, puts a little pressure on Chelsea going to Palace and some players got a rest.
Shame about Frank, he was having a good game going forward today.
Sergio - for me, the BEST striker on the planet.

He's a bit too greedy for me Bluey. If he sorted that side of his game out, I'd agree with you.

I hope that comment was tongue in cheek about Sergio Dawg.

I'm being serious Bluey. Some matches you only have one chance and you have to make the best decision.

Re: City vs Spuds - live thread
Come on Dawg.....his goal record is up there with the best in the world (for strikers - i'm not talking about Messi or Ronaldo, as they aren't strikers)..his goal per minute ratio has just got better, and he was already the best in PL history.
I'd rather he was a little greedy and it was he who was shooting than passing the ball to Silva who never shoots, or Navas, who just faints to go outside and squares the ball.

Re: City vs Spuds - live thread
I honestly thought Milner was brilliant today Joe as well, their pen was outside the area, Our 1st was very soft & our 1st goal should not have stood Lampard offside blocking their keepers vision. Their sending off was correct by the letter of the law as the ball had passed Kaboul. Their central defender pulled Sergio back thus denying a goal scoring opportunity. Whether Sergio would have got to it is debatable but the ref was absolutely perfectly placed to see it.

Chelsea game is entertaining down to 10 men shocking tackle by azpi then what do palace do 2 mins later Delaney gets his 2nd yellow & is off. Fabregas & terry for Chelsea both lucky to still be on the park so to ex rag Campbell for Palace. Good free kick by Oscar. Come on Palace get in their Faces.

Shaken would have got 3 lively points as you only get 5 for getting the correct city score.

Silva wasn't great, no. Misplaced a good few passes. But Milner was in great form. I don't know what game you saw, but he was pushing for everything. In the second half especially, he was shouting for everything and he worked really hard.blueboy wrote:Silva looks off the pace and as much as I like Milner - he's been abysmal.
Yep. He was bobbins.blisteringblue wrote:Navas you are wank
DeM was left short handed for big chunks of the game as Vinny went out wide to release Sagna forward. It would've been fine if Fernando hadn't given the bloody ball away so often and their goal was a direct result of his touch being less octopus and more barn door. The defending was very reminiscent of Bolton, with all the Keystone Cops defending and Jaaskelainen being overworked. Joe had a good game overall and, aside from goal where he was pretty much left in the cold by his defence, he did really well.blueboy wrote:What a great game to watch.....for the neutral. I'll take the result and the points, but we're still not right. Still one too many passengers and relying too much on individual brilliance.

Milner improved in the 2nd half...first half, he was awful, which is when I said that...i think.
His touch was awful...and I'm a massive Milner fan, so only calling what I watched Leo.
As for Sagna......he's no Zaba, clearly. Think I saw him receive an overlap once all game, as he was too slow getting forward, so the play had passed him by, by the time Navas wanted to play it to him.
Navas though, is so frustrating. He has all the pace in the world, but seems to only use it once or twwice in the game.....and I know Dzeko wasn't playing, but when he beat a player and pulled it back, we looked like we were going to score.
Still, the defence looked very average against an average Spurs team.
I so wish DeM and Vinny would stop trying to win EVERY single tackle, instead of sometimes holding them up...as most of the time, their players were going nowhere, but those two jumped in to win the ball and gave away stupid free kicks that other teams will punish us.

Thought Milner had a great game - works so hard. Fernando had a poor game unfortunately, but he will come good eventually.
Poor old Frank though!!

I was a bit gutted for Fernando. He's been brilliant up until he got injured and then he throws in this shocker. Let's hope he's just ring rusty as I see him being crucial to our season.

Definite dream...
No, he did not long after he came on, but that lung-busting 8yrd sprint blew everything he had.

That's harsh Bluey. The guy has obviously taken the criticism on board and worked his bollocks off for the team and you still knock him.
