What do we really need?

Simple question, as the amount of players that we are daily linked with is getting ridiculous.

Personally, i think that when the club said there wouldn't be mass signings this summer and maybe a couple of additions in key areas, they were telling the truth.

I think we all agree we need a LB and its interesting we are linked with Aly Cissokho from Lyon who is class, his agent has said he has met with us.

Cover for Hart if Given leaves, we were supposed to be looking at Gordon at Sunderland, he is in his last year of his contract there.

A creative midfielder to take the strain off Silva, this would cost the most, with the likes of Sneijder maybe available.

CB cover, with Venthogen in the frame at a reasonable price.

Apart from that, if Tevez does commit his future to us, i can't see us making any other signings, only getting rid of the deadwood and with a front 3 of Tevez, Balotelli and Dzeko, i feel we have more than enough firepower there.

So, would you be happy with the likes of these? Or are we getting greedy and wanting more?

Gordon wouldn't come as cover. Is Taylor not there for that job anyway?
LB imo is the main priority. Clichy @ 5-7 mil?
New CB to partner Vince, others not good enough.
Personally, i still think Sanchez may come.
Can't see Sneijder coming but i'd go for Nasri.

I would like a new left back (Clichy or Baines).

Another centre back because Kolo may be too fat when he comes back and may not be good enough. This may be harsh on Lescott and Kolo since we had a mean defence overall.

I'd like another creative midfielder such as Sneidjer, Modric or Nasri.

Sanchez would be my other wish.

There have been others mentioned that I wouldn't say no to, but we don't want to be getting 5-6 players and then trying to get them to gel.



My wish list would be Clichy, Nasri, Sanchez and a good CB. The lot would cost us about £75M with sales bringing in about £25M.

Den, looks like Sanchez to Barca is a done deal, Gordon is now 2nd choice at Sunderland, so i don't think he will mind warming our bench rather than theirs, looks like Cissokho at LB maybe a goer and Venthogen for CB aswell, just leaves a creative midfielder, who are few and far between, try and hijack Modric, or set our sites high and tell NDJ to have a quiet word with Sneijder.

Thought talks had broken down between Barca and Sanchez........maybe i misheard?

Its reported that the deal is 80% complete, i think Barca are trying to offload Jeffren to them as part of the deal, but he doesn't want to go.

Still say City should flash the cash at Udinese and nab Sanchez or at least make Barca pay £40M.

The thing about City is we just pay hard cash for players whereas other teams are on the installment plan.

If we can afford it, why not just bid £40M for Sanchez and £40M for Sneidjer and let everyone else squirm.
