Football Fans
Take a trip to some of the other forums and its like the end of the world that we haven't signed Sanchez. For fucks sake, the European transfer isn't even open and its all doom and gloom, forgetting that we already have a squad that will be challenging for the title, i am thinking that a certain section of our support are getting greedy and play too many FIFA games and expect one marquee signing after another, regardless of the calibre of players we already have.
Also the media love in with Liverpool and their deluded "this year is our year" fans is fucking laughable. All they have done is buy mediocre young English players at inflated prices and have a manager who has been out of the game for 10 years, yet all of a sudden they are title challengers? Why?
I know every football fan wants the best for their club, but some expectations are becoming fucking ridiculous.
Personally, if we didn't sign anyone in this window, it wouldn't bother me too much, as i believe we already have a squad, of whom we were told all last season that they would need to gel, to challenge for the title.
So on here, lets just be thankful that we find our club in the best position its ever been in and leave the greedy and delusional to other sites.

Re: Football Fans
We don't need to improve that much to be challenging for the title next season, that's for sure.
Ignoring any games where we were lucky to win (I don't recall any), there are plenty of matches where next season the result would differ from this season.
Sunderland 1-0 (Richards error)
Blackburn 1-1 (Hart error)
Wolves 2-1 (unbelievably poor performance)
Birmingham 0-0
Everton 1-2 (the buggers will probably beat us again next season)
Aston Villa 1-0 (we were shit in January)
Birmingham 2-2 (how could they score 2 goals?)
Fulham 1-1 (we are better than that)
Everton 2-1 (Bastards)
I reckon that's about 14 points we would expect to get next season.
Take off a few for us being lucky and we would still be looking at high 70s points next season which should put us in the mix.
Things aint that bad!

Re: Football Fans
last seasons gone, finished, history.
We could all go through our teams results & add another 15 points on to our total.
Personally I think City will sign two or three more players before the season starts.

Re: Football Fans
I actually agree with ONH.
every team can look at past results and find another 10-15 points over a season.

Re: Football Fans
Other than Left Back I would happily go next season with what we have.
If anything I would rather us manage to shift a few that aren't worth a shirt or the money they cost in the first place.....RSC springs to mind.

Re: Football Fans
I for one am more than happy to see the car thieves buying every player offered to them.
As we have been constantly told over the past couple of seasons, 'new squads need time to gel' 'success isn't an overnight thing' 'success can't be bought, it has to be built' etc etc.
So we should be pleased to see that we aren't going to have massive upheaval this summer, and the squad that did us so proud last season will continue to develop and improve.
The future's bright and I still believe!

Re: Football Fans
We need an attacking midfielder to support Silva and that is about it. I don't mind who it is, as long as they do the job. I'm not interested in buying anyone else, as every new player we buy is one more player we need to blend into the team.

I agree with leopold............creative MF, cover for Silva - which I think Nasri will be the player - and can play anywhere in the MF or wing. Other than that - I hope Tevez stays at least til Jan............especially for the CL.
