It was his call and a tight single. That Moeen got 3/4 of the way down, turned round and nearly made it back makes me think that Bell would have made it comfortably if he'd been backing up and interested. No need for it though.

That result just about sums England up for me. Our 1 day team is poor and atleast 3-4 of those starting today shouldn't be any where near the first 11.

I wouldn't have Broad until he proves himself again.

I'd start again from scratch and look at young players that may have the capacity to make it and invest time in them. Jordan, though he can be shit, does have the capacity as an all rounder. Maybe he needs more time to improve to the level required.

Australia, South Africa,, New Zealand bat way down and still have players at 8 or 9 that can take the game away from the opposition. Woakes managed it today, but has to be more consistent.

England slow down too much when they lose a wicket or two whereas most good teams just carry on scoring runs.

I was struggling for an 11th Dawg, so just added Bopara as i couldn't think of anyone else at the time of posting ....but i'd stick with the other 10.

I personally wouldn't have anyone in the test team in the one-day side, but it doesn't really work like that.

Australia have a few test players in the ODI team (Warner, Clarke, Starc, Haddin, Johnson). I think you need a base of  players who are good in any format of the game.
