Is £3.5M enough for Shay Given?

He is only 35 yo and Brad Friedel went to Spurs for £2M (40 yo).

I reckon Shay is still worth a minimum of £5M.

We should be pushing for every penny to help against the FFP rules.

most have the figure closer to 4 mil for him, in fairness I think it is the wages that will assist in the FFP more than transfer fee.

It's probably the wages situation that's keeping his price down.

Friedel was a freebie Topdawg, his contract was up at Viila. 3.5m is good business i rekon for a 35 yr old, he is 2nd choice on huge wages.

Given has been a breath of fresh air at City. Hasn't been first choice, but has never moaned in the press like others and seems a really popular member of the squad and enjoyed our FA Cup success as much as anyone and has been heavily involved with City in the Community.

He is too good a goalie to be sat on the bench and i for one wouldn't begrudege him a move for first team football even if it were for free, at his age he desrves it.

spot on Daz, i think he would have stayed had it not been a permanent deal, he did'nt want a loan as he would have been in the same position next summer. He is reunited with his old mate Dunny and will be 1st choice again at a club challenging top 10 place, good luck to him, except against us.
