How many obvious errors can you spot from the chief sports writer?
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/440637/EXCLUSIVE-Man-City-Paul-Pogba
The big-spenders have made the midfielder their No.1 target this summer and are determined to lure him to the Etihad.
Club bosses are on a mission to sign the French midfielder ahead of a host of rivals - even if boss Manuel Pellegrini is sacked.
Owner Sheikh Mansour believes Pogba can take his team to the next level by helping them win back the Premier League title and succeeding in the Champions League.
But the billionaires face stiff competition from Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain for Pogba's signature and must also keep in line with UEFA's 'Financial Fair Play' regulations.
Pogba will be at the centre of a huge bidding war this summer and will command a fee that looks set to dwarf the £60m United paid Real for Angel di Maria last summer.
Etihad bosses will also have to meet Pogba's wage demands of around £220,000-a-week - which means some star names will have to be sold.
Starsport understands the likes of Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri, Aleksandar Kolarov and Edin Dzeko will all be put up for sale to help fund a deal for Pogba.
Frank Lampard will join MLS outfit New York City while James Milner could also be allowed to leave to help reduce the club's crippling wage bill.
Pogba's agent Mino Raiola is determined to drum-up an auction for his star client this summer and leave Juve with no choice but to cash-in.
PSG have tested the water with a £45m bid but it is understood it has been dismissed out of hand and that the 22-year-old has no interest in joining the billionaire French champions.
Riola has held provisional talks with PSG and Real officials as the demand for Pogba's services hots up.
Now it seems Etihad chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak is poised to join the race to sign Pogba and is plotting a club-record bid he thinks Juve will accept.
The deposed champions are desperate to bring in a world class midfielder and long-term replacement for Toure.
Etihad bosses believe Pogba is the man to build the team around and appear willing to do whatever it takes to lure him to Manchester.

Hardly an exclusive for starters. Everyone knows City are interested in Pogba. And everyone knows that Dzeko, Nasri are out of favour with Pellegrini.
This article is more than just bad, poorly researched journalism.

Re: How many obvious errors can you spot from the chief sports writer?
That's the exclusive blasted out of the water. I never even knew something might have been afoot.
Starsport 'understands' means we are guessing here.
Frank Lampard will join MLS outfit New York City while James Milner could also be allowed to leave to help reduce the club's crippling wage bill
City aren't allowing Milner to leave, he's got his own choices whether to stay or go as his contract has run out. We haven't also allowed Lampard to go to the MLS as his contract with us is expiring too. We can't force these players to stay against their will! And I don't think our wage bill is crippling us.
The deposed champions are desperate to bring in a world class midfielder and long-term replacement for Toure.
Either we are selling him this summer to fund the transfer of Pogba or we are looking for Pogba to be the replacement in the future. Can't have it both ways.
But the billionaires face stiff competition from Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain for Pogba's signature and must also keep in line with UEFA's 'Financial Fair Play' regulations.
Stating the bleeding obvious about FFP and making it out to be a monster that will stop us when, in reality, we can spend £250M on acquisitions this summer if we want to.
Owner Sheikh Mansour believes Pogba can take his team to the next level by helping them win back the Premier League title and succeeding in the Champions League.
I hardly think Sheikh Mansour is involved at all.

Are we absolutely certain on what we can spend this year? as it appears every man & his dog seems to think we are still on the restrictive measures placed on us this season.

Re: How many obvious errors can you spot from the chief sports writer?
Too many people think that we will be restricted by FFP without having a clue how it works. As Melton has explained, FFP only concerns itself with the profit and loss account and not the balance sheet. This is why some clubs can rack up huge debts without a problem with FFP.
Last year we were restricted on our net spend on transfers to £49M. This year, we will be back in the fold, though we have to cut our losses (or even make a profit) to fall into line with the target losses set out under FFP. If the accountants get that bit right, we can spend £250M on players with only £40M-£50M hitting the p&l if these players are on 5-6 year contracts. The increase in CL tv money is supposed to be £30M on it's own before any other new income. We also have the new tv deal to come in next year. City earned about £96M for winning the league last season but the new champions in 2017 will earn about £150M just from the new PL tv deal. We are talking about an extra £80M a season which will, no doubt, be supplemented by increased sponsorship deals, kit deals, naming rights etc. which will get a top team closer to an extra £100M a season within 2 years.
