Manchester City have held talks about signing Alex Song from Barcelona, according to Sky sources.

The Premier League heavyweights are particularly interested in Song because he qualifies as a home-grown player even though he played for Cameroon.

Song, who spent last year on loan at West Ham United, has two years left on his Barcelona contract.

By all accounts, Pogba won't be coming.

TBF...Song, if classed as HG, isn't too bad a signing. He's far better than Fernando and will probably cost us in the region of £8m.

I'd bin Fernando anyway...he was a poor, poor signing.

£12m for Fernando who's the same age as Song - yet Song is £5m and HG.....I'd say we've already been fleeced.

he is that shite blue only have to read the arsenal & united boards to see what most fans think of him & the west ham board for that matter. I stand by what I say. He is actually worse than shite. Couldn't get a game at Barca was eventually dropped by west ham. Arsenal even sent him out on loan to Charlton Athletic, Fernando may or may not cut it this season we will have to see but song has had a number of chances to prove himself and has been left lacking, Fernando was very well thought of in Portugal & was regarded as a top player at Porto, but this season will be the test for him.

That's if Fernando is here come next season. If we are to sign Sterling, De Bruyne plus one other - ie Wilshere etc.....Fernando is behind Fernandinho, who will struggle for a starting place.

I think Fernando was a terrible signing. He's nowhere up to playing in our starting 11.
