HG/Non-HG/U21's......
If we look at the possibility of the 25 man squad rule. 17 being the maximum for non-HG, which leaves 8 to be filled with HG players.
Squad:
That's 6 HG so far. Possibly add:
Patrick Roberts
Raheem Sterling
That's 9 HG players.
Add the possibility of:
Kevin De Bruyne
That's 26 players so far without selling the likes of Fernando, Navas, Jovetic, Kolorov....and sending Zuculini and Roberts on loan again.
Therefore, we could in theory we still have 4, maybe 5 more spots for non-HG players without adding the likes of Angelino, Barker, etc to the squad.
Squad:
- Aleksandar Kolarov
- Bacary Sagna - HG
- Eliaquim Mangala
- Gael Clichy - HG
- Karim Rekik - HG
- Martin Demichelis
- Denayer - HG
- Pablo Zabaleta
- Vincent Kompany
- Fernando
- Bruno Zuculini
- Fernandinho
- Jesus Navas
- Marcos Lopes - HG
- Samir Nasri
- David Silva
- Yaya Toure
- Sergio Aguero
- Stevan Jovetic
- Edin Dzeko
- Wilfried Bony

I though Sagna qualified as HG..
should shop Caballero off and get an decent young English keeper as back up.. wasted having a foreign player never going to play..

Think Rekik is going to be sold. if not then he is in his last year of contract means another will walk at the end of the season. Saw 3.5 mill quoted to psv. I thought that until they are 21 they do not have to be named in the squad but can be used , so in theory you can have a named squad of 25 & use the youngsters if need be ( when injuries suspensions bite ) etc...

Re: HG/Non-HG/U21's......
I get confused with the whole ruling....but if needed and they are under 21, can they not be added as a HG player - or not?
Not sure - it's all confusing. But it seems one way or the other, the HG rule shouldn't affect us that much if we get Sterling and another.

That, I do agree with Moon. Seems a complete waste of time having him in the squad when we could have the likes of an English, upcoming keeper in the squad.

Re: HG/Non-HG/U21's......
From what I remember, you can have as many U21s as you like, regardless of where they are from.
You've got Lopes (19), Denayer (19), Rekik (20) and Iheanacho (18) who are all U21. Even if Rekik is sold, I'd expect those other guys to be training with the first team next year and not to count towards the PL squad. Even Sterling is U21.
Unless Auxerre has been annexed, Sagna played in France until he was 23/24 so cannot count as HG.
If we can get rid of Big Willy, Kolarov and Jovetic, that will free up 3 spaces for Pogba, De Bruyne and Isco...

Nick Pope from Charlton. Get him before someone else does...he's the next Joe Hart.blueboy wrote:Moonchester wrote:I though Sagna qualified as HG..
