The umpires need to take things like that into account blue, their tailenders were taking an age to face the England bowlers too.
Irrespective of taking the players off at the same stage the days before, the umpires should have given England the chance to win the game after their 5th day exploits for the good of the game.

Totally agree. If they needed 10-15 per over, fair enough...but they still had 8.3 overs to get 27!

They were facing Pakistan's fast bowlers with no problem whatsoever - it wasn't like they were struggling to see the ball.

The Pakistan bowlers were changing the field every single ball - they were stopping their run-ups, they were conferring every 2/3 balls, they had the 12th man on the field about 6 times in 6 overs! At one point the umpire told him to get off...yet still, they referred to light meters when the flood lights were on.

There was one shadow across the centre of the pitch, nowhere near the wickets.

The umpires should have said "you've wasted about 15 minutes...we're adding them on if the batsmen are happy to continue"

And as you said, what sort of advert is that for cricket?

Pakistan had all day to bat it out for a draw, but collapsed to England's bowlers. England sent in all their big hitters first to get a result and for the sake of an extra 30 minutes, the umpires ruined the chance of a grand finale.
