Leicester vs City - Live Thread
First topic message reminder :
So, another big 3 points needed against a team that will definitely provide a sterner test than Sunderland.
Team? Be difficult for him to drop Bony after he scored again, so I'm going for Aguero to be on the bench tonight.
Hart
Zaba, Ota, Manga, Clichy
Fernandinho, TLMLF, KDB
Sterling, Bony, Silva

It's a start, first clean sheet in forever and we were the better team. Awful I know but 3 points against Watford and that is causing good Xmas if truth be told

Well Aguero was equally wank tonight....
Thought the CB's did well tonight.
I'll take a point, especially as this Manager couldn't muster fuck all out of this team if he tried.

Howard fucking Red..."no penalty, Aguero made a meal of it"...and BT wonder why footy fans can't stand watching it.
McManalady, Glenn 'no personality' Hoddle....it's fucking painful listening.

Not the end of the world - we didn't lose and we have moved up to third - so need good performances over the next couple of weeks. I'm sure Leicester will slip up also - so we still have everything to play for.

Yes Wensdi not the end of the world but we have been playing like a top 10 team and not title contenders for a couple of months now which is worrying.
Can only hope the players step up because MP isn't helping them with the tactics.

Last 14 games - 6 wins and 3 draws. That's not top4 form.

Miserable Danny Mills commentating on the match - every Monday night game - he gets on my nerves. Had to keep repeating that the whole Leicester team cost less than one of our players. Get a life Mr. Mills.

Re: Leicester vs City - Live Thread
We are 12th in the table for away wins...that form will not win us the title.
MP needs to resolve this issue and resolve it immediately.
This is not a TLMLF bashing, but:
Last night he did spray the ball around nicely, but he made only ONE burst forward with the ball last night. ONE. That's not offering us anything.
After his 20 yard run with the ball, he walked back for the next 2 minutes as if he was knackered - it was embarrassing to watch.
For me, we need to sacrifice him if we want to accommodate Silva, Sterling and KDB.
He's been played in a 2 in MF for most of the season and hasn't offered anything. He's been tried playing further forward, and again still not offered us anything.
For me, he shouldn't be in the starting 11 when we play away. We need more energy - I'd even go as far as to say that Navas (yes, Navas!!) would offer us more.
The manager has to resolve this centre MF stubbornness...it's up to him to find a different formation but he's just not up to it. His over-reliance on TLMLF will cost us.

Maybe with Sorriano going to Madrid to speak about signing Isco, is the answer, but even if we got him in January, you can see MP playing him alongside TLMLF.
We need a box-to-box MF player - Delle Alli type.

Why can't we just play Delph and Fernandinho as DMs, Sterling, Kevin and Silva as AMs and Aguero/Bony up top?

Re: Leicester vs City - Live Thread
Because Delph only lasts 2 games being fit.
The problem is, even if Delph was fit, can you honestly see him dropping TLMLF? It would never happen, he'd fuck around with the team, dropping Sterling or KDB to accommodate him.
That's the top and bottom of it.

Re: Leicester vs City - Live Thread
Top 4 is all MP has to deliver, hopefully even he can't mess that up! Possibly as bad a manager as we have ever had, Frank Clark or dare I say it, Alan Ball would have delivered more with this group of players. I've not changed my opinion in over 12 months.

The guy is still on the books! Money is all he cares about the greedy bastard. Faking injuries with us for God knows how many years. Bleeding us dry when there was no monet at the club. Mercenary Scumbag! I will add the two scouser s Fowler and McManaman to that... vile creatures from Liverpool....

Re: Leicester vs City - Live Thread
If you look at his performance over his managerial appointment, you'd say a PL title, a C1C and still in all 4 competitions so far isn't that shabby.
The appointments brought in aren't his signings, they would have been brought in by the Spaniards...so we can't really lay the blame at his door for them....by that, I mean the likes of Caballero, Fernando, Otamendi, Mangala, Delph etc etc.
Against him though, we won the PL title when we really shouldn't have won it. Yes, we played well at the end and others slipped up - I get that argument.
Last season was a terrible season in performance and the cup competitions.
This season, we brought in Otamendi, De Bruyne and Sterling which should have strengthened the squad, but, we have had a pretty shite run of injuries, meaning players haven't necessarily been rested or dropped - so places seem to have been a given for some, without any pressure on them. TLMLF being the prime candidate. He plays as if he couldn't give a toss, knowing, regardless of his performance, he'll be in the starting 11 the next game - and probably as a Captain, which is an even bigger joke.
The Manager has had plenty of opportunities to blood 3 or 4 academy players this season, but for some reason, he hasn't - and this has only compounded the argument for players not having to give 100% every game.
Who knows, we could have unearthed a Dele Alli, Eric Dier...but if they don't play, we'll never know...and, if they aren't trusted at the age of 20/21 - then they may as well be sold on as they'll never get the chance.
Patrick Roberts is a prime example. The kid actually takes players on - unlike Navas, yet how many games has he played wide right compared to Navas this season?
Kelechi v the opportunities that Bony has had?
At this stage of the season - where we currently stand, we are desperately missing Milner's work ethic and energy, something we haven't addressed, especially away from home - and this goes back to my previous observation.
I agree BB - with this squad, regardless of the injuries, we should be leading the pack. 3rd keeps us in with a shout, of course it does, but for me, it's not so much the quality of football, it's the effort as individuals and as a team that's the most worrying...and the Manager just compounds it time and time again.
So, for the amount of money spent so far during his tenure - he's been average for me as a City Manager...but, if he wins us a cup and the PL, then you'd have to say 4 trophies in 3 years is a good return, which isn't far fetched right now.

I still don't get why we shouldn't have won the league in 2014? we kept 17 clean sheets & scored 103 goals including 4 players who scored over 20? surely you can't ask for much more. The rest I agree with.

Considering the fact that all the other top clubs have been collapsing around us since he has joined I don't think it is a good return. We have been pretty stable and if the clubs around us were as stable we would not have won anything...Arsenal just haven't had the players...

Re: Leicester vs City - Live Thread
Somebody said they would take a draw before the match. Got one - we were away to the league leaders (at Christmas). All disappointed that we didn't get a win but we can't keep over analyzing everything. Lets see where we are in a couple of weeks. If nothing changes then I'm sure our owners will fix that.

Re: Leicester vs City - Live Thread
I said I'd take a draw because we just look poor far too often, Yes we had tons of possession but did very little with it. I didn't want a draw because that was a good result for us, I said I'd take a draw because we have been utter wank (TM) away from home most of the season.
And we weren't brilliant last season, even though we finished 2nd. Our owners don't seem to have changed that over the summer.
