Trevor Brooking....blaming us and Chelsea!

Good reply at the bottom -
Fair point Trev. Back in your day, every England player got regular first team football. Trevor played for England between 1974 - 1982. Out of the 3 World Cups that his England team competed in, we qualified for just 1 tournament, in Spain in 1982, England also failed to qualify for the 1976 Euros, but qualified in 1980 - before getting knocked out in the group stage. Perhaps simply blaming a couple of football clubs is not the answer.

I agree....if you compare Navas (in attack), he doesn't do what Roberts does....take players on into the box, inside and outside them.
However, I guess MP thinks Navas works back harder at this point than Roberts will....but we don't know until we try him.
Can't see why he couldn't be brought on in games like the Palace game, when 2/3-0 up.
Give him 30 mins, lets see what he really can do...as I agree Moon, he does looks exciting.

I think roberts isn't as 'consistent' as Navas and would lose the ball heaps more. But, and it is a big but, he'll get past his man sometimes and make and score goals. Navas very rarely does that. I'd take a 50% success rate at beating your man than passing it backwards or crossing it to the first defenders head.
