I know i'm gonna be in the minority here, but i say yes.

There was a stat on Sky this morning that said he's played 17 games this season, but missed 29...and that'll be increased by possibly another 6. The team cannot lose it's Captain and be disrupted at the back for this amount of time, this is exactly why we've struggled so much at the back this season....well that and the replacements aren't any good.

Pep needs to come in and get 2 new CBs imo, ones that aren't injury prone and also able to tighten our feeble back line up.

Love Vinny...but let's face it, we'll have to buy 2 new CB's, Vinny and Denayer can be cover for Stones and Laporte and get rid of Otamendi, DeM and Manga.

That sounds pretty good to me.

Gutted for him, but 14 calf injuries in 7-8 years, 4 of them this season already??? He'll miss at least another 4 weeks of the season and if he's not careful (and I know City should come first), he'll end up missing the Euro's if he has another one.

Another tournament in the summer casts doubt on how fit he'll be at the start of pre-season if this injury is going to continue at the rate it has been.

I don't think the club can gamble on him now being continually fit.

Yeah it's so sad...and i think every City fan feels for him, as he really is City through n through.

Unfortunately, the stats don't lie though and we can't continue to rely on him to move us forward anymore.

Keep Vinny as backup. If we get two new CBs (Stones and Laporte), they can partner Vinny (when fit) and each other when he isn't. Otamendi can be back up, but I'd prefer it if he left. Can't see us getting rid of MDM, Mango and Ota.

Gotta keep Vinny even if he is back up. Get rid of DeM & Mangala & bring in at least 1 newbie with Otto

If Otto is not fit for Sunday Id give the young lad Ade something (who played against Chelski) a run next to Mangala rather then DeM. DeM will get murdered by Martial & Rashid. In fact even Depay could probably skin him 

They think Otamendi will be fit...but agree Yoyo should be given a chance.

Surely MDM is way past it, he's 36 ffs we need better than that if we want to be taken seriously as CL contenders. I think Mangala and Otamendi need to be given at least one more season to prove their worth then ship out if they fail to impress.

Mangala I'm willing to give another year....Otamendi fills me with dread...he's a yellow/red card every time he tackles. His positional sense is woeful.

Mangala hasn't been great, but I personally see something in him, and he's young....but I'd be hoping that we start with 2 new CB's next season. I'd be happy with Stones and Laporte or Varane and Laporte....but both will cost us another £70-80m, so 2 CB's have to go, and we'll get nothing for MDM, so I'm afraid, if we are going to stick with Vinny and Denayer (maybe), Ota and Manga may have to be sold to make way for the other 2.

Considering we probably need a new RB and a new LB....we could see a whole new defence next season, which I'm sure will be weird for Pep and not what he had in his plans, as we all know he loves MF's....so that would have been his priorities with the likes of Pogba, D Costa, Gundogan at the top of his list.

We'll need to recoup some serious money though - as these players without signing another striker, will cost another £130m, add to that two new defenders, 2 new LB's, we could be talking about £300m in new players, so we have to recoup at least £100m of that.

That's why I can see the likes of Nasri staying, Sterling staying, maybe even Navas staying.

Totally agree regarding Otamendi...he a card waiting to happen and has no positional sense whatsoever.
I actually thought Demi did ok when he came on last night, but age and speed are very much against him.

I'd personally get rid of Nasri before Navas....as we'd probably get more money for him.

One thing's for certain, a complete shake up of this squad's needed over the summer...that however may only happen if we can secure a top 4 spot.

Another idea.. if Navas is only in the team for his defensive capabilities, why not stick him at Right back for a game??

Sagna can play centre back & is more mobile than mdm. Yoyo is a bit up & down just hope pel doesn't string him along. ok ok  need a bit of humour (well i thought it amusing) after last nights depressing injury's.

We don't need to recoup any money at all, just ship them out. It's better if we get decent money though.

Having said that, if we don't make CL, we'll need every penny we can get our hands on. You'll see a new Etihad deal for sure.

Can you honestly say any of our defenders are good enough? We may need to renew the lot of them.

The problem is I can't see Zabba or Sagna getting the boot. Clichy will stay (HG). MDM is going. One of Mangala and Otamendi should leave.

Navas should go. Fernando, Bony and Yaya too. We may end up changing over half the squad at this rate.

I think your on the edge players will stay, except maybe one of Otamendi and Mangala. I'd also expect Nasri to stay just because he's missed all this season.
