Germany v England
I have to say it, even though it's only a friendly, this England setup isn't half bad. Dele Alli is running the show. It'd be interesting to see how we'd fare in a proper contest. Our defence is still rubbish, though.

Re: Germany v England
Like I say, I'd like to see this team in a proper contest, but they showed some grit to claw it back from 2-0 down to win 3-2. And the goals from Kane and Vardy were very special.
Time for Shrek to hang up his international boots now, I think. It's not like he's shown us anything in an England shirt in, ooh, ever.

There's better options in attack with sturridge waiting in the wings. Bye bye Wayne

Re: Germany v England
Don't normally bother with Internationals, but saw the line-up and thought "hmm, give it a watch". Thought it was an excellent performance...though we gave away 2 poor goals.
Thought Alli was simply brilliant for such a young kid.
As mentioned, Vardy and Kane took their goals superbly.
The full backs were excellent going forward, though Clyne isn't great at defending.
Germany are notorious for being average in friendlies, but that was a pretty much full strength team..so well done.
My one big issue will be when Woy gets Rooney, Carrick and Wilshere back in the team at the expense of some of these kids like Dier....because when it comes to tournament football - he will.

If he does, Bluey, he needs putting out of his misery. Those three have done nothing to further the cause and should be retired.

Re: Germany v England
He just will Leo...but last night showed that these kids can transform their current form to the international stage - they played without fear and with freedom.
When it comes to the Euro's, he'll stick with Rooney, he's already pretty much said, Wilshere's on the plane (and if that's the case - why is he, on what basis?....because he knows what he gets from them and trusts them)...which for me, suggests when it comes to tournament football, he resort back to players he knows.
I hope I'm wrong, because if we have to watch the likes of Rooney and Carrick...I won't bother.

I hope you're wrong as well. It's bad enough watching our club manager sticking with failure instead of risking the kids, without having the Euros spoiled as well.

Re: Germany v England
This fact just sorts of sums up his tenure...
Since he became manager, he's given 34 new caps out of 68 players used....and yet, when it came to the last tournament, who did we see starting for England? The usual suspects.
Again Holland, we'll see a completely different team...probably Rose will stay, as he hasn't called up another LB.
We'll see Vardy, Barkley, Drinkwater, Milner, Walker, Jagielka, Stones, Forster, Sturridge come in....personally, after what we saw last night, I'd like to see him make 3/4 changes and keep the momentum going, with a few tweaks in areas like Vardy for Kane, the 2 new CB's and Walker.
Why does Milner, Sturridge etc have to play? He knows what they both can do....Sturridge is a given if fit - so why risk his dodgy muscles, as Kane is a guaranteed starter for me ahead of him.

It'll be most of the same old guard. Woy and pellers are cut from the same cloth

Re: Germany v England
As said on here by all, the future's these kids now and NOT the old guard. If Hodgson does bring back Rooney n Co, then he should be binned off as soon as the plane lands back on terraferma.....unless of course we win the damn thing

Re: Germany v England
Prime example will be tonight....as much as I like him, why is Milner playing AND Captain?
Woy knows what Milner can do and what you get from him - another opportunity to see someone else lost.

Re: Germany v England
So, expectations are back to normal in the space of 3 days.
Couldn't be bothered watching the game, so went out for dinner.
Our defence has shipped 4 goals in 2 games.
Guess we need to be far tighter when it comes to the summer.

Re: Germany v England
I think we have to remember it was a completely different team than 3 days ago...he made 8 changes.
I think a few last night pushed for a place on the plane to France, a few others shouldn't be anywhere near the airport.
