Kompany to miss the Euros

Vinny will miss most of the summer....can't see him lasting much longer at the top level. Real shame - his body is letting him down when he should be in his prime.

It could just be that he's been rushed back, in the same way we've done with Serge and Spanish Dave.  Perhaps a summer off will be what he needs for a full recovery.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.  It'll be a damn shame to lose such a great on-field general as Vinny, you don't get them very often.

I don't think he was rushed back this time, I genuinely think the club have tried to manage him well this season under great duress. It is either a problem with his training methods or his body is not up to the rigorous demands of the position he plays or the way he plays.

I remember the way the club used to look after Craig Bellamy maybe that is the way to go with Vinny.

Unless he's like Ledley King (who didn't train and just played matches because of his knees), then he has to train and play properly. You can't play 90 mins and then miss the next match, play 90 mins and miss the next match. I'd much rather he was introduced back slowly like 20 mins at the end when we are thumping Stoke. 20-30 mins next match. I think the body prefers that than to play 90 then miss a match.

It may be harsh, but maybe this serves Belgium right. They played him when he was coming back from an injury, when they'd already won the group (or qualified at least). This may well give Denayer a big break.

Vinny should be used as a back up next season...he's too much of a crock to be 1st choice now.
It's a shame, but the reality is he's past his best and we have to move on.....it's the same situation with Zabba.

I think Zabba's a goner. Maybe link up with Mancini at Inter and we'd get a couple of million for him.

I do agree that we simply cannot afford to rest players just because they can't cope with the demands of the premier league. If push comes to shove & we don't need Vinny as back up then maybe a move is best for all party's.

He's going to miss the start of the season too according to the Belgian Physio who reckons he'll be out for about 4 months.

Yeah i read that too MCM....4mths, that's some thigh injury
