Now i know you don't give a shit about this (but i'm gonna post it anyway Razz ), but yesterday was "Ryan Lowe day" at Gigg.

This fella to us i suppose is the equivalent of an Uwe Rosler or Sean Goater (or even King Sergio) to you guys....he is an utter legend, who'll never be forgotten, especially after he scored the 88th minute winner to get us promoted at Champions Chesterfield.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5W8M5RdIOk

He scored his 200th league goal in our last home game and yesterday played his last game in a Bury shirt...after turning a new contact down (as we're tight bastards Mad ).

Having made it 2-2 in the 1st half, we got a penalty in the 3rd minute of injury time. Many fans ran onto the pitch thinking the full time whistle had gone, once dispersed, we then we had a delay as their manager (Phil Brown) remonstrated with the referee over the decision. Anyway, Ryan had the chance to score the "winner" in what must have been the 97th minute.....and score he did cheers .

Talk about an emotional and fitting end....thanks Ryan!! Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I'm still gutted tbh blue, as are many fans.

He was offered a new 1yr contract with a 2nd on a pay as you play basis, but Crewe have offered him a 2yr playing deal....probably worth more money.
He has a young family, so no-one is begrudging him his move...we're just disappointed the club haven't given him 2yrs as he'd have stayed.

Bizarre move by Bury for the sake of 1 year.

Is it a money issue for the club (ie can't afford to give him a 2 yr contract?).

I can only assume it is.

We have 17 players under contract for next season, so at the minute giving a 37yr old a 2yr deal might not be the thing to do.....despite him being labelled "irreplaceable" by our current manager and admitting that some "under contract" players will be leaving over the summer.

Alot of people don't have a lot of trust in the manager (Flitcroft), much the same as City fans with MP. He constantly tinkers with the team and plays players out of position week in week out....we've had 7 different keepers alone in 18mths, we've still got 4 there now (Ruddy, Lawlor, Lainton and Neal).
