Sneijder not moving?
I know this doesn't really affect us directly and I know the Mail is the last place to trust for anything (I wouldn't trust them to tell me the colour of an orange, frankly), but it's always good to laugh at the rags...

What a shame...

Re: Sneijder not moving?
I really don't get this transfer to be honest, he just seems to bait them - one minute saying he is happy at Inter, the next saying he 'could' be sold. Strange guy...

Mind you, Eto'o did the same thing to us.

True, if he doesn't end up signing for them then he has pretty much strung them along all summer.

Re: Sneijder not moving?
Its bizzare, he must want to play for them. As much as i hate em i can see why he would want to join, so why not just get it over and done with. Wether its agents, the players or the selling club wanting to grab every penny they can, transfers take far too long to sort out nowadays. Mancini has voiced his concerns today and i agree with him, its important we dont get ripped off, but we pay top dollar in the end so get it done.

Re: Sneijder not moving?
I think the big stumbling block is the wages. He wants more than United can afford to pay, presumably because the ugly scouse wingnut is taking more than his fair share of the wage budget.
But it still surprises me. I've heard plenty of United fans say (quite rightly) that players would accept less money to play for a top side, so either Sneijder is a greedy twat or United are no longer considered a top side.

Re: Sneijder not moving?
Like I've said before on here, I only want players who want to play for United at the club.
Not players who just want the highest wages although in "real life" theres nothing wrong with that but footballers at the top end dont live what I would call "real lives".
We dont know whats going on but we'll soon find out, still got a feeling he'll turn up at OT.
As for still being a "top side", we are the Champions of England again for a record 19th time & one of the Biggest Club sides in the world, but nowhere near as big as City
in Stockport

As much as i'd like to think its the latter Lee, i rekon its the wages. You cant blame him for wanting to match his wages at Inter, but surely just coming to the prem is a step up from Serie A. It should be about ambition, but in this climate you need to think about sorting your future, unforunate in some respects, but understandable. As long as it keeps him away from the swamp thats all that matters

Re: Sneijder not moving?
He probably doesnt see it as playing with United but as messing the journos around, and who can blame him.
Listening on sky and a few other tv/radio stations the old journos go on about how they used to have a drink with the footballers, be great mates and that the money has stopped that....
NOOOO
what stopped that is newspapers digging into players lives, constantly criticising their play, calling them pampered pima donnas then expecting rent a quote big buddy favours. If someone treated you like the papers treat players would you want to mess with them?

Re: Sneijder not moving?
Spot on Lee1, they almost consider themselves above the football world and more important than the players. I dont get to watch SSN since they moved it off freeview, but when i do catch it round my mates house it makes me cringe, the sickliest bunch of self important tossers i have ever had the displeasure to view.....and ive have Garth Crooks on most weeks.

Re: Sneijder not moving?
Why is going to UTD a step up? after beating Barca and winning the CL trophy at Inter, something UTD failed to do, and were dispatched quite brutally on home soil, it's a risk, plus his wife wants to stay in Italy so tough shit!!!

Re: Sneijder not moving?
They have a lower tax for high earners in Italy I think, so if he comes over here and takes a wage cut anyway, he'll be on a lot less than he is at Inter. On the flip side, I think he'd make a lot more out of sponsorships playing for United. Who knows what his problem is, but I'm putting my money on this:

Re: Sneijder not moving?
News in the shitty papers is that KIA Jizzlobba is over in Italy discussing a swap deal Tevez for Sneijder .
Were also in for Aaron Lennon to replace SWP which on current form seems fucking lunacy.
Also Mancini wants Neymar.....?!
And top it all Harry says that if we want Ade to go on loan to Spure WE have to pay his £100k wages.....
All this guff is either in the People or the Star... What, slow newsday was it, even after Joey's antics???????

Re: Sneijder not moving?
Seems it's not all over...
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3756110/Wesley-Sneijder-tells-Man-Utd-Ill-take-pay-cut.html
So he's willing to cut his wages. Is that so he can go to United, or is it to get away from Inter?
Maybe we should speak to Inter to discuss a swap with Tevez and offer Sneijder a little more than he's asking for now, seeing as he's asking for less money.

Re: Sneijder not moving?
According to Moratti he's going nowhere, this will go on till the close of the window, just like the Tevez saga.
