I reckon most will only have heard of 4 or 5 of these.

Shearer must be in there

I'll give you Shearer, though I had hoped you'd have taken a stab at the number of goals. All other players played before the PL started, but you will have heard of a few of them.

I'll kick off with Jimmy G...1st?

Nat Lofthouse must be in there somewhere - 4th?

Dixie Dean - 2nd?

Struggling now...I would have said Shearer as well. 

Can only think of Henry, Cole and Rooney that would have possibly got near to Shearer and he's 5th on your list...and none of these scored over 200 goals - at least I don't think they did.

Ian Rush?
Geoff Hurst?
Bobby Charlton?
Dennis Law?

Tom Finney and Stanley Matthews maybe up the top end..

Jimmy, Nat and Dixie are all on the list.

I've said that no other PL footballer is on the list

Malcolm MacDonald?

Jackie Milburn, & Charlie Buchan are the only 2 that spring to mind. Buchan only because as a kid I used to get the Charlie Buchan football album every year for xmas. I started watching football around England world cup 66 I was 7. I really cant think of any prolific scorers in the 60's & 70's other than Malcolm MacDonald but not sure he scored the required amount whilst in div 1 with Newcastle & Arsenal.

Clyde Best?

Oz gets Charlie Buchan (but the one that scored the goals is from a much earlier time).

I've heard of 7 of those players & seen 2 play (during their playing days ) Finney & Lofthouse in old footage but the rest never.
