If only we could defend...

Stating the bleeding obvious here, but, if only we could defend properly, we'd be up there with Chelsea fighting for the title. If we could defend and took 50% of our excellent chances, the title race would be almost over already.

Maybe we can't do much about our lack of clinical finishing before the summer but surely we can do something about our terrible defending.

I think I posted the other week....Otamendi statistically, is in the top 2 defenders in Europe.

We all know that Bravo could have at least saved half of the shots he's faced, and Kolorov went off the boil, Clichy had a couple of dodgy games, the odd back pass from Stones, Zaba looking slow in certain games, the MF not managing to close down opposition players quick enough.....but still, I think this season, our finishing has been the catalyst to the draws/defeats and loss of points.

I said before Xmas, when people were giving Pep stick, IF we would have won those 3 games where we ended up drawing, after missing what seemed like 5 or 6 clear chances per game....we'd be right alongside Chelsea and all this negativity from the press would be obsolete.

I think we deserved the points against Everton and should have beaten Chelsea. Southampton, we didn't do much and against Boro we were lame not to have finished that game off.

Just give us two more points against Everton (2 missed pens), 3 points against Chelsea (Kev hitting the bar) and 2 more points against the Spuds (shitty reffing) and we'd be sitting there in 2nd just 2 points behind Chelsea and a lot of our feeling down wouldn't even happen.

And the key point is, none of that was Pep's fault.

Granted bluey. But he's the guy who stuck that plonker in goal. That's worth a few points too.

Instead of having 3 at the back which hasn't worked why don't we have 5 at the back, 4 in MF and Sergio on his own Let teams come to us a bit more then catch em on the break a la Leicester last season
Or go for 6 at the back Have a defender permanently on the goal line to save the shots that the clown Bravo doesn't save which is most shots

Some said out yaya in goal. His distribution. Is better than Bravo's, he moves more than clownio and probably will stop more goals too. Win win all round. And he can have that new contract that bluey would like him to have...

If TLMLF was in net, can you imagine if he had to dive for a shot? It'd take him 5 minutes to get up!
