Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
Thinking to get a sport package (or two) this season.
I just want to watch the footy in the PL and CL. That, realistically, means I have to have both BT Sports and Sky Sports. I also want broadband and line rental (which I currently have with Sky).
I've had a quick look around on the web but why do they make is so confusing???

It's all garbage Dawg...
I have the complete package with Sky - pretty much everything you can watch, plus multi-room HD - box sets, you name it....and it costs me £75 per month.
I'm loathed to pay it, but I do get my BT Sports for free as my Broadband is with BT.
It's such a bloody nightmare now trying to work out what you want, especially, as taking it all with one provider doesn't get you the best package.
Good luck!

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
The only real deal at the moment seems to be from TalkTalk who are doing all the Sky Sports channels for £8.50, however even that deal would not tempt me anywhere near that hacked disgrace of a company.
I just stick with BT myself, and I use my old chaps Sky Go on a mini PC attached to my TV. Gave up on Sky a few years ago.
I think free streaming is going to be tough this season, Sky and the Prem are coming for the streamers with both barrels loaded it would seem.

BT broadband seems to be the best for me....Virgin super-duper broadband hasn't made it to our country roads yet....BT are now about to install super-optic fibre broadband....but when they get round to our lane, I've no idea.
They are more expensive though than Talk Talk etc....but tried Talk Talk for 6 months about 6 years ago....fucking woeful customer service....so you roll the dice and all that.

BT offering me standard deal:
BT Infinity up to 54 MBS (probably min of 17MB), SKy main event + sky sports extra (should have all 126 PL games between the two) and BT sports (rest of PL games and CL)

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
I looked at all the options earlier this year....for me, the best deal is having BT as my broadband provider and Sky Sports....if Sky had fibre broadband in my area, it worked out slightly cheaper on the Sports front and calls, but I still needed to pay for BT Sports (which makes me feel sick to watch Jake Numpty and his cronies - so I get it free with my BT broadband, so sits easier with me).
TBF, BT customer service has been great for me. I complained earlier in the year that the broadband kept cutting out whenever someone called the home phone and took 2 mins to get back up.....they came out twice within 24 hours and even though the fault was with the main exchange a mile away, they replaced all my telephone sockets to the latest ones for free.

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
My BT and broadband though is £54 per month....free everything incl Sports etc, but I'm sure it's cheaper with other providers.
Guess it depends on what you want/need.
In total, I pay £129 for my Total Broadband and calls etc and Sky FULL package that includes everything HD, multi-room, box sets etc....no cheap, but it's worked so far for me.

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
I literally only have broadband now..
most of mine will be through links and streams etc, was tempted for IPTV box, but not sure how long or hod good they will be.
or I might go to the pub more often for a few bevvies and a watch...
I don't have the funds to kick in a full sports package

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
BT are charging £57.50 a month for infinity broadband, BT sports and sky main event and sky sports extra. Sky wanted £19 for my broadband, £15 for basic sky and £18 for the PL footy channel.

And the guy couldn't tell me what it would cost for BT sports as an add on. Bollocks

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
He couldn't tell me the price of BT sports (he knew really). He offered me the basic package for £18 when people are being offered all sports channels for £20

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
He said main event doesn't have all PL games. It he hung up when I asked him if the missing games were in sky sports extra ( as I read online). The missing games will most likely be the shitty Ines (or should be)

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
So SKY wanted £51 a month from r same old slow broadband without BT sports. For the extra £6.50 a month, I think I'll go for BT's infinity, all BT sports and sky main event and extra. The cricket (only other sport I'm interested in) should really be main event during the day in the summer.

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
Unless I go for BT infinity at £30 a month and SKY offer me something decent like all sports for £20 a month and £15 a month for basic SKY. Basic SKY is all I need for my kids.

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
Yep...that's why I ended up just paying for free everything with BT Broadband....and then EVERYTHING with Sky.....saves me having to work out what's worth what for the sake of a few quid.
I know I could balance it out and get it cheaper if I change everything, but sometimes, it's easier staying and pestering them every 6-12 months for a better deal.
I'm sure as a new customer, especially now, prior to the season, you can get the best price.
I'm assuming it's for your Rochdale place? My friend is a CS Manager for Sky, but she can't get me any greater deals as I'm an existing customer.....you want me to call her?

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
Yeah, why not. Honestly, we aren't there that much so I really should do all this for sometime next year. But I fancied watching the Brighton match if I make it home in time.
What you've done sounds like the sensible solution as I wouldn't have to pay the set up fee with BT for the SKY channels (£60)

Cheers mate. Really just a basic breakdown of what they show but doesn't say what the best way to structure packages is

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
My friends a training manager for Sky. Just called her and she's gonna get back to me tomorrow to see if she can get you some 'codes' to get some special offers....as she's just leaving now.
Leave it with me and I'll PM you tomorrow.

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
Cheers mate. I think I'll get BT infinity started up swiftish to start with. Don't reckon I'll be home in time for the City match anyway. I'll wait until Sky offer me a great deal on the sports channels. I think I'll try and hold out for £20 for all sports channels which many people seem to have been offered.

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
I'd probably go that way....BT Infinity and then a Sky Sports package with some free ad-ons if you can.
Will let you know tomorrow when she comes back to me.

I'm the same moon, invested in a mini media PC that sits in my TV cabinet, I've just used my old chaps skygo for past 3 seasons, more than adequate for a bit of football and golf ( all I watch) offered to bung a few £ but he said he would have it anyway so happy days.

Re: Anyone got a great deal on satellite sports?
I spoke to my friend and she said the codes aren't great at the moment for what you need...but she said the best would be to do what you're doing - get BT Infinity and the £20 pm full Sky Sports package.

I think, because I'm nut currently on a sky package, they'll only offer me £15 basic package and £18 PL footy only

Have found 3pm streams ok on sport devil via my kodi box, thought it would be harder this season with the PL clampdown and court orders.

Guess it'll only get harder as they start looking at viewing figures.
