Rumours over Pep.
Pep to extend his contract at the end of this season. See the Mail.

Re: Rumours over Pep.
The Catalan's contract runs until the end of next season, with talks over fresh terms not expected before the end of this campaign.
Guardiola's focus remains on winning his first piece of silverware in England and Sportsmail understands any negotiations would be smooth given his strong relationships with members of the City board.

Re: Rumours over Pep.
Details of an extension have not yet been discussed but sources suggested Guardiola is willing to talk in the summer.
It raises the possibility of his time at the Etihad Stadium eclipsing the four years spent in charge of Barcelona and three at Bayern Munich.

Re: Rumours over Pep.
Given the board's preference to talk turkey during the close season, I'm not surprised that any talks would wait. Plus, once we hit that point, we'll know if we've won anything or made any significant progress, which will make their negotiating position much stronger. Win any trophies and the vault could be unlocked to increase Pep's wages. Win nowt, and the crowbar may well come out.

I watched Guilleme Ballague talking about this last week and he said "if you want Pep to extend his contract, always ask him when he's approaching his final year, then only offer him one year". "Offer him 3 years and he'll say no".

Re: Rumours over Pep.
I agree with GB on this (and not much else).
Ask Pep for a 3 yr extension and it's looking 4 years down the line and he's not stayed beyond three anywhere else.
An extra year is only two years in total which is much more manageable in the head.
I'd like him to stay and keep us at the level we're at now and take us beyond. Also, it'll help imprint this DNA into the club and the kids that are coming through.
