Re: Who’s the ‘victim’ here?
so am I reading this correctly (between the lines)..
woman messages her friends and they decide to basically set-up the bloke with rape accusation?
if that is the case, I'd like to see her prosecuted for that..

I'm not sure what she said.
But the police didn't pass these messages to the CPS until just before trial (two years later) and they immediately withdrew the case.
I'm interested in who the CPS claim is the victim and why.

Wow. More details. incompetence wouldn’t be the word I would use to describe the police here.

now we will go round the carousel whereby they won't take action against the false-accuser, in case it may deter genuine complaints from surfacing in the future..

Re: Who’s the ‘victim’ here?
I was on jury service a few years ago when the cps & police appeared to be colluding with one another to convict a young lad on grooming charges
It was a disgrace,he had the mental age of a young boy and they treated him like a nonce
We threw it out on day 2

Beyond belief in this day and age. The police know full well they have to disclose anything that may undermine the case. The CPS should never have agreed to go to trial knowing that there was undisclosed information.
This bloke will now get a mahooooosive payout !
