Huddersfield team
I think we’ll see a bit of chopping & changing over the first 1/2 a dozen games to give game time to the squad, with KDB out for a while hopefully we will get to see a bit more of Phil Foden as his omission eases the competition for places in the midfield
It’s been doing the rounds that Aguero will be replaced by Jesus today but I can’t see that being the case,he’s looked very sharp & cant see him missing out
I think we will start 4-1-4-1 with Sterling & Bernardo playing more central
David Silva has trained all week but I suspect he’ll only make the bench
Ederson
Walker Kompany Stones Mendy
Fernandinho
Mahrez Sterling B Silva Sane
Aguero
Bravo Otamendi Laporte Jesus D Silva Foden Gundogan

On mi-Ederson
Walker Stones Laporte Mendy
Ferdy
Mahrez Berardo Foden Sterling
Aguero
Would have Sane, Gundongan, Silva, Jesus on the bench.
Bravo, Kompany, Ottamendi, Delphino, Zinchenko, Diaz all available too?

Re: Huddersfield team
At some point this season we're going to play with 3 at the back and 2 wingbacks, most likely at home against lesser opposition so why not today?

Re: Huddersfield team
I like your set up too Blue Radley, just switch Sterling and Merlin in that formation.
But we know Huddersfield are going to be tough to crack, so I think having the additional attacking mid could give us more to push through them with, not sure if bombing on full backs would give us the advantage against a solid defensive unit.

Re: Huddersfield team
Wow nobody saw that coming, do we actually have two wing backs or is this a totally new Pep formation?

Re: Huddersfield team
Maybe it’s part of the new tactics for teams that play with 10 men behind the ball that Pep has hinted at before. Huddersfield usually play a 5 man defence against the top 6 these days.

Should be 2 up already, Jesus needs to stop trying so hard, Sergio is so much calmer

Not that it matters to the score line, but the ref is absolutely wank

Maybe not today, but it’ll be 10 one day. Great example of how to dismantle a parked bus.

Re: Huddersfield team
When teams show as little ambition as that, the full backs don’t have to bomb on much because they’re pretty much playing as wingers in the other half all game. Walker would have been great on the other side but I doubt we’d have played Aguero and Jesus then. In Pep we trust!

Re: Huddersfield team
We will get so many goals from Mendy this season. Those crosses are impossible to defend.

Re: Huddersfield team
2-1 from a set price of course. They play like a 10th place team at best under the old eye poker

How much has Moaninho spent in the last couple of seasons ? Just shows he can't buy class or a team to beat Brighton

Re: Huddersfield team
Great result today and some good football from most of the lads. Serge looks well up for it, Mendy was tearing their defence apart, Silva and Bernard were both on it. The rest worked well and we looked to be cruising. Plus that free kick from Spanish Dave, oh my god, sublime! He really isn’t showing any signs of slowing down, is he?
The only disappointment was Gundogan as I felt he didn’t get into it enough, and Stones nodding off for their goal. Still, 3 points, +5 on the GD, and top of the league!

I guess he's going to be the key to unlocking the bus parking teams that we struggled against last season, but I think he'd be better off on the bench when we're playing teams that want to attack.
