We have a 20 man squad to choose from with no injuries other than Mendy and Sane
I think we start with
EDERSON
WALKER STONES LAPORTE ZINCHENKO
BERNARDO RODRI DEBRUYNE
MAHREZ AGUERO STERLING
SUBS from
BRAVO, OTAMENDI , FERNANDINHO SILVA ,CANCELO, JESUS, GUNDOGAN

I'd play David Silva instead of Mahrez...pushing Bernado up wide right.

Mahrez deserves another start after West Ham

Still undecided on Mahrez - predictable cutting in and goes for glory + still can't forgive him for the pen. Now's his chance with Sane out...and do really hope he does it.

That said, we've not troubled the scoring charts either

Otamendi to partner Laporte. Could Fernandinho start as this is a big game?

Shocking decisions by the ref, but still managed 2-1

Re: City v Spurs
So we don't get a nailed on pen with VAR but they are all over any excuse to disallow a goal. Going to be a long season, they don't want us to win it do they. Oliver is no way a top referee either, consistently poor.
Not too arsed about today, it should have been 7-2 and let's hope Pep roasts that defence because that is not good enough.

Clear foul on Rodri completely missed or ignored by the Ref. Surely that should have been reviewed if the dubious handball at the end was so quickly reviewed with no hesitation? Biased f***ers!

My first experience of VAR while in the stadium, still don’t know exactly why it was disallowed. Even so, not a terrible result. Just one of those days where we’re a bit wasteful in front of goal, should’ve put four past them.

All goals will be reviewed by VAR. That foul on Rodri was a nailed on penalty that was clearly visible in the 3rd tier of the south stand right at the back.

Just seen it on MotD. Seems like VAR itself isn’t the problem here, it’s the new rule regarding handball. Any contact with the hand at all by the attacking team that leads to a goal, regardless of how slight, or accidental, is penalised. Curiously, if a defender makes the same kind of contact it’s not penalised. Ridiculous. Completely agree about the foul on Rodri, surely that’s what VAR is for, so why wasn’t it reviewed? That said, we still totally outplayed a supposed rival so no real concerns with the final result, so long as it doesn’t keep happening.

Re: City v Spurs
According to various sources the penalty claim was reviewed by VAR but dismissed or it wasn’t reviewed by VAR at all !!! Either way it was wrong, Sky pundits including Neville, BBC MOTD pundits, and all the Sunday supplement journalists on the panel this morning all agreed it was a stonewall penalty. The VAR panel that reviewed that should be asked why they dismissed it if they reviewed it, if they didn’t review it then why not?Blue Radley wrote:Just seen it on MotD. Re: City v Spurs
Just seen the disallowed goal again and it’s not even clear that Laporte touched it at all, unless there’s another camera angle I’ve not seen. Seems VAR’s job at the moment is to do whatever it can to disallow a goal, and that can’t be good for the game.

Re: City v Spurs
I agree, and I have also seen comments that it also touched the defender’s arm too. Those making these decisions should be required to explain their decision and provide the evidence used. This would remove any suspicion of bias or corruption.
