Defining Moment? Empty Defining Moment?

Post by BoyWithTheArabsCash Wed Oct 19, 2011 10:49 am

I know its still early, but does anyone think Aguero's winner last night could be a defining moment of our season?

We were mediocre throughout the side, yet we still had enough clear cut chances to win the game, but when all seemed lost, we got a goal when it mattered. I can't remember the last time we won a game like that and i can see it being a catalyst for us to push on and believe we can win any game as it will give the club, players and management a massive boost from what looked as though was going to be a huge dissappointment.

Do you think the way we won the game last night rather than the performance push us on to greater things this season?

One things for sure, its never dull being a blue.

Spot on Daz, Playing poorly and winning is what brings a lot of clubs trophies, last night will give us extra confidence and a belief we can win those games. Vinnies interview after the game showed how much it meant to them, he was buzzing and could'nt stop grinning.

I'm sure there's been other times, but the only one I recall was the playoff final. We're not normally given to snatching a win at the death. Losing, yes, but not winning. If we can show this never say die spirit in other games, we may find ourselves clawing points from games when we perhaps don't deserve it. Or maybe we DO deserve it for perseverance.

I'd still rather we didn't leave it quite so late next time, it's not good for my blood pressure!

Oh god yes! Beating the rags with a goal at the death would be the most wonderful thing ever. How I'd laugh at all those rags feeling the burn of being done in added time, knowing that they now feel our pain at them doing it to us so often.

No, I'm not an especially caring soul when it comes to United. Or Everton or Spurs, actually.

United won the CL in 1999 by doing the same thing, playing poorly for 90 mins and getting 2 sneaky goals, we at least had countless chances to score, even before we did at the end we had to clear chances!!

If anything, it'll teach us not to switch off at 90mins on sunday!!!

IT would be poetic justice if we won in Fergie time on sunday with a scorcher from either Dzeko or Hargreaves!!!
