Another England squad selection has come and gone without Micah Richards getting the nod, and this gets picked up as the media mulls over another Citycentric weekend.
There's reaction from outside, and from the lad 'imself, but we'll come to that later. The Times' Tom Dart does a compare and contrast job, saying:
"Last night Richards was overlooked again as the squad to face Spain was announced but whatever his prospects, the 23-year-old is flourishing again at club level. He made his 200th City appearance in Saturday's 3-2 win over QPR and has nine league starts already this season.
"...City's expensive remodelling has forced Richards to raise his standards to remain at the club, but he has benefited from working with some of the world's best attackers on a daily basis."
You'd expect a sober analysis from the Times, whereas out on the web at the tabloidy Click Manchester there's a more sensationalist approach.
"Micah Richards was tonight left stunned as he was snubbed by England.
"The Manchester City defender has been the Premier League's outstanding right-back after just three months of the new season but failed to make Fabio Capello's 25-man squad.
"...Richards expressed his shock at the announcement of the England squad on his personal Twitter page, declaring: "Disappointed is an understatement!!"
Yahoo’s Brook Peck seems to like us, which is nice; a few weeks after raving about our You Tube channel, he's singing the praises of a new fashion range, complete with screen-dump of our shop web site.
"Never a club to miss out on a fashion trend they started themselves, Manchester City have added Mario Balotelli's world famous "Why always me?" shirt to their official club shop. It comes in original and chubby celebrating gnome(?) flavours and like last year's Roberto Mancini scarf craze, the shirts are reasonably priced for a must-have item.
"Though a great many T-shirt makers, both amateur and professional, got their versions out much faster (MCFC kit maker Umbro even sold out of a limited edition design), these are presumably the only ones that carry the Mario Balotelli Seal of Approval and Excellence. I bet the gnome was his idea."
Cheers Brook, but you don't get a freebie - gnome is where the heart is (you're fired - Ed.).

Re: Monday gossip
Micah's been left out in favour of Jones (Utd), Walker (Spuds) and Johnson (L/pool).
Can anyone honestly say that Micah's 4th choice out of those?
You could argue that he's experimenting with his side and it guarentees Micah won't be getting injured, imo though it just goes to prove what a complete and utter prick Crapello is. The sooner he goes the better!
