Reading Game... Empty Reading Game...

Post by bellyblue Mon Dec 17, 2012 10:45 pm

Just watched Reading get totally outplayed by Arsenal at home. I dont want to tempt fate but if we dont stuff these i will show my Arse in City square after the game! They must be one of the worse teams ever to be in the Prem, even Mc Dermott was saying he needs to strenghten in January. Gary Neville thinks if they play 4-4-2 we will over run them with our midfield and Tevez and Aguero dropping in also Silva Nasri and Yaya will be too much for them. So with all this in mind what's the betting we start with Kolorov, Balotelli, Garcia and Maicon... Embarassed Really really hope not!!

With Goal Difference mentioned in a recent interview with Mancini, I think he will go full strength, we have no other games to play, so if we can start racking up goals again, it could be not only a psychological boost for us, but an equally negative one for UTD if they see us hit form.
If we'd taken the chances we had in the last few games, there would've been å hatful of goals.
I think Mancini has twigged with the Tevez, Aguero, Silva, Yaya, Nasri quintet running rings round Newcastle in the 1st half, against a lesser side, and at home, we could see a massacre if we take all our chances, or even 50%!!!!
Mario's in the doghouse anyway, so I can't se him playing again for a while, similar to the post Arsenal run last season, where he was left out for quite sometime.

Mario is fighting against the club so I can't see him playing again until that is resolved. Hopefully, he'll never play for us again.

We do have a pretty good, stable team for most positions now, if only Bobby can see it and not tinker.

Anything less than scoring 4 against Reading is just plain wrong.

Reading are truly shite and there for the taking!!

TopDawg, sorry mate but I don't like your side in the slightest. That team would get slaughtered on the counter attack. It'll only be Nasty and Zaba back.

I'd put exactly same team out as Saturday, but if Nasri is injured then it'll only be Barry who can really replace him as we have no Milner, Rodwell or Kolarov.

Personally I'd start Sinclair.

Not sure about starting Sinclair, I would personally bring him on in the later stages once we are 8 nil up.

Vince,

We've only had 2 and a half games of playing good football this season. Newcastle, Villa and 45 minutes of the Rags game. I hope you don't think this is a sure thing?

Very true! If we play like we did at Newcastle and do some fucking finishing practice in training this week then we should be easily beating Reading.

Especially after that dire performance last night. But you never know, they might be up for it.

Joe, I doubt even If they are up for it, they lack fire power and finesse to really trouble us.

What about the Sunderland game? Thought we had a good game against them?

Don't think Nasri will be fit, unless it was just a bruised knacker at the weekend! I have a sneaky suspicion Milner might be fit..... so he can replace Nasri, and Vinny might be fit too, so even better! ( sorry MoM Kolo!)

I'd rather give Vinny an extra bit of time for this game. Kolo and Nasty should be more than capable against the strikeforce of Reading.

I thought it was more a terrible Sunderland side rather than us actually playing very well.

Maybe so, but they put three past the rags and we didn't, so we shouldn't get too cocky.

Leo, the rags defence is suspect, ours is more tight even with Kolo in.

I aint getting cocky, but really, If we think we can't steamroll Reading then there something fucking majorly wrong.

Yes, but we didn't steamroll QPR either and they aren't all that much better. In fact, the only team we've battered is Villa and we had a couple of penalties to assist us with that scoreline.

I don't think we'll lose, but given the dismal shots to goals ratio we have (and we do) then I don't think a steamrollering is in the offing. Hopefully the lads will prove me wrong, but for now my wildfowl are remaining untallied.

We battered Newcastle in the 1st half, we just didn't take our chances, Reading should be lambs to the slaughter if Mancini plays the right side, our strikers will be salivating at the chance to snag a few each.
Not counting chickens, but we look to be getting into the groove again like at the end of last season, playing quick one touch football ( god, I sound like a broken record I've banged on about it so much!) even at the end of the game at St.James we had a few chances to score more.

But yes, I still don't think we're in full steamroller mode yet. The number of chances we've let go begging lately have meant we lost ground on the rags and it bugs me we're still not being clinical up front. Like I say, the lads have 90 minutes or so to prove me wrong and turn in a stonker of a performance.

And then, omnipresent deity of your choice permitting, Swansea will show the rest of the league just how beatable Salford Rangers really are.

My thoughts exactly...should be a steamrolling, Reading are getting used to being beat and we are getting something like our fast flowing best or nearly! My only worry is if Mancini plays a weakened team with the games coming thick and fast. Hope i'm wrong and we really go for it cheers with the right team. 5 or 6 for me too!!
