Yaya Toure
Is he any good or is he just a lazy bastard? I think he's had a bout 2 or 3 good halves & the rest has been a big disappointment for me. I honestly would prefer to see Milner in his position

Re: Yaya Toure
He seems to have the stamina of an asthmatic pensioner.
My 5 year old daughter can tackle better than him, but apart from all that he is alright.

Re: Yaya Toure
Haha Boy, nice description of Yaya there!
Tony, yea again, I agree with you.
The guy has obvious talent, great feet, close control and decent pace once he gets going.
The thing is, with him possessing the lund capacity of a drunken Flea, it never really shows on a consistant basis.
He frustrates me more than impresses me, I can't fathom why RM never subs him when its obvious he is pooped.
Strange one, maybe he does want to go elsehwere in his heart of hearts, yet he aint doing anyone any favours by putting in the performances of a pub player at times.
I think he has more to offer us than Balotelli though.

He's in my Fantasy footy team, so he better start bucking his ideas up, as i need his goals and points.
Still think the best is yet to come.

Shaken, lets hope so mate.
I don't doubt the lad has ability but when his head is a messed up as his is, then I don't hold much hope.

Re: Yaya Toure
I dont know about prefering Milner though. Milner works hard, dashes about and yet never ever sees the through ball.
For all of Yaya's lack of puff he still manages more "killer" passes than milnes, probably more goal scoring opportunities and has a better vision

Re: Yaya Toure
To be honest when you look at YaYa and Ballotelli you have to agree with all the wums that said these guys were only coming for the money. Apart from those 2 the rest at least try to put a shift in, even Jo his problem is that he is just shite.

Re: Yaya Toure
Agreed MCM. Yaya looks like he's playing in a friendly half the time and Balotelli looks like he just hates being here in the first place.
Re: Yaya Toure
He's our 60 minute wonder....after that?
Evening boys - glad to get myself on here at last - great site Vince.
Was away all last week in Dubai - the avatar was in business class bar on the Emirates A380 last Monday - the Blackburn team were in there going for a winter training camp.
Spoke to both Benjani and RSC. Had a long, and rather boring chat with Jon Jensen. The players were arse-holed - and David Dunn is just that - and arsehole.
To be fair - the players were pretty relaxed about me taking videos and pictures - Benjani even sent a message to one of my lads.

Now I know why he never made the Barca team regulary, really isn't a middlefield dynamo is he?

Re: Yaya Toure
To be fair - its his first season and the game is so much quicker than Spanish football.
He's had a few blinders and some pretty dire games.
He even said himself, that he isnt sure of his best position in our side as he has played the defensive role (which he said was his preferred position) and Mancini has deployed him further forward.
My only gripe is for a guy that size, he never wins any midfield headers!

Re: Yaya Toure
Yaya was my MOTM tonight. Great effort and awareness and I think it was because he was asked to play deeper along side Barry. Credit where credits due.
Re: Yaya Toure
He still looks slow sometimes, but he's definitely showing signs of improvement and he's looked pretty good in recent games. He's not a runner like Milner, but I can sort of see how he plays, you can see him reading the game and getting into decent positions. He was dispossessing the Aris players comfortably tonight and rarely made a poor pass. Looking better with each game.

Re: Yaya Toure
Credit where it's due last night was one of his better games but he needs to produce those performances more often. I'm not saying every game as that would be an unrealistic expectation for any player but he needs to do it more often in the league for the money he is receiving.

Re: Yaya Toure
This guy really frustrates me. He is clearly overweight and unfit. Why Mancini keeps him on for the full 90mins is beyond me. I can only imagine it comes down to his high wages and price tag.
Bringing him off for Milner around the 70min mark has been a no brainer time after time this season.
At times he shows flashes of brilliance, and you think if he was a bit more consistant he could be one of the best in the league (in his role). But he fades for long periods of the match, and becomes a complete passenger.
If I had my way we wouldn't have got him in the first place, stuck Milner in that role (who is undoubtedly talented, just needs a consistant run in, in a central role, in order to find some form in my opinion).
Not a fan of Yaya Toure, when he's good he's great, but for the majority of the time he is the definition of the word 'gash'. If he can get his fitness up and show some consistency maybe I'll change my mind, but he seems comfortable coasting on as he has done all season.

Re: Yaya Toure
Can anybody expain why Mancini thinks Barry and YaYa are better options than Milner? maybe against different opposition he wants to juggle the midfield but he seems to consistently pick these two over Milner and it frustrates me why he persists with it. When he does make a change he brings in DeJong and if i was Milner i would be wondering what i have to do to get a game.

Re: Yaya Toure
Milner's been injured since the Derby but he'd be my preferred choice as an attacking midfield player.
