Dare to Hope
I must have too much time on my hands or I need to get another hobby. I was thinking in my moment of despair about the result when a sense of been here before came over me. go back to 2012 season a defeat at arsenal & a draw at home to!!!!! SUNDERLAND 2 goals down with 5 mins left last night 1 goal down 2 mins left.
Final 6 games then started with a home game against WEST BROM 4-0 Win in 2012 Uniturd were away to relegation scrappers Wigan & lost 1-0. Liverpool are away to relegation scrappers Norwich. As you all know we went on to win our remaining games.
2013 fa cup semi final we beat Chelsea next match final against wigan ended in defeat. This season 5th round of f.a cup we defeat Chelsea next match qtr final against wigan ended in defeat. are all these similarities just coincidence? or does fate have a say in the title race?
Clutching at straws maybe????

Meant to say as with 2012 our next Home game after the loss & Draw is WEST BROM.

Clutching at straws - yes. City have failed to play with the determination and will to win all season with the exception of a handful of games.
By the way Oz - I thought Milner had a shocking game last night

I havn't watched it but have read an awful lot. saw on 606 Boris said he hadn't seen him play so bad since in goal for the under 9's then coming back from a triple by pass or words to that effect!!!!!

spooky.....guess we have to cling to something, but I still think there will be more twists, we just have to hope for a miracle. Not sure what would be best, a Chelsea win or a Liverpool/Chelsea draw.

Chelsea and Liverpool to slip up this weekend and then a draw when they play each other. I'll just stub this joint out now.

keep the joint going at least the more you inhale the better things look. Come to think of it have 2 joints ( then Dzeko will look like a striker)!!!!!!!

So... You're saying Chelsea to drop points against Sunderland and Norwich to beat Liverpool?Wensdi wrote:Chelsea and Liverpool to slip up this weekend and then a draw when they play each other. I'll just stub this joint out now.

Re: Dare to Hope
glad to see the optimism. I myself still cant get over that sinking feeling two seasons ago when after sunderland & Arsenal we looked like a beaten team. Exactly the same as now. The feeling is identical.
When we see what transpired after that, is it really impossible to replicate that form. I am not talking about the last minutes v QPR I am talking about the last 5 games starting with West Brom. Ok teams around us may not drop points but with the pressure off us in terms we cant influence other teams results surely we can play with a bit more freedom like we did west brom & Norwich that season.

I said it the other day, but my worry is that the ayers now think it's done and have their eyes on the World Cup and do to want to risk getting injured...

Oooh well done Sunderland. I hate the Monday night games. We never do well at night - and I can't watch them. Have to watch the recorded match and it's agony trying not to check the scores. If Liverpool slips up at all now - we are still in with a chance. Never thought Chelski would lose today.

I think Maureen has a point though
It's almost as if everyone wants the scouse gits to win the league
They have had 12 penalties this season ! and are deffo getting the rub of the green as the season draws to a close

Re: Dare to Hope
Liverpool have to either lose one match or draw two and we have to win all remaining games to get 86 points. Think they've as good as got it - course Sterling had to give Brenda a hug today when he scored - just to better Lukaku's hug last week.

Re: Dare to Hope
Maureen can easily do a number on Liverpool so it's not all lost yet. Liverpool will drop points, they could have easily drawn the last 3.

Speaking of Maureen - what a classless ass he is - him and his first team coach. Hopefully the love affair with him is over. His after match interviews are unacceptable. LOL

Re: Dare to Hope
hopefully maureens mind games can get to Liverpool. Chelsea's only chance of the title is to beat Liverpool. but we still have a big ask ahead of us. With palace now safe it might just make the game against them slightly easier in the fact they don't have to worry about gaining the points. Hopefully they can enjoy a holiday mode game. Lose to us get a rocket from pulis after the match about their performance and then go & win their next match to vent off pulis's anger v Liverpool.

Re: Dare to Hope
Right I've trawled this out again to add a couple more coincidences to the already weird list. 2012 our last away game was at Newcastle where we needed to win to keep in the race. At the time Newcastle were 5th going for 4th place. Our last away game is Everton who just so happen to be 5th aiming for 4th. Our last game was at home to a London club, again our last game is at home to a London club. Our 4th last game was away to wolves where we won 0-2, our 4th last game this time was away to Palace where we won 0-2. Talk about a mirrored season.

Re: Dare to Hope
And here's another coincidence...
When City won the league title in 2012, Maine Road FC reached the Challenge Cup Final (and we got bum-humped 5-0 by Bacup. In fact I still wake up screaming in the middle of the night from the recurring nightmare).
Tomorrow night, MRFC are in the Challenge Cup Final again...

the only thing that looks a cert now is Aguero will not be the 93rd minute hero on the last day sadly.

Sergio has tweeted that he went off as a precaution and that he's ok. Didn't look like that to me.

Re: Dare to Hope
No, nor me. But saying that, I've had tweaks in that area in the past and sometimes it's just painful for a day or two and then you're okay again. I'm sure we'll find out one way or another. But if there's a time for Dzeko to shine then this must surely be it, since Nedge is struggling and Jovetic can't even get on the pitch.

Re: Dare to Hope
Nor me, but let's just rest him on Weds anyway and hope he's ok for the Ammers.
Hopefully Yaya will be ok and he can just slot in behind Dzeko to add that firepower up top that we're gonna need...keep Fernando and Silva in the middle with Jimmy and Sami on the wings....simples!

Re: Dare to Hope
all the players are saying they are fit to go. Aguero saying he is ok as dawg said tweeted just a precaution although after watching the game this afternoon he did seem ok at the end of the game. He was on the pitch with the players. If he had been injured the medico's would have had him on the treatment table I would have thought. Negredo said he is back to his best on our version of football focus he says he has finally got over his shoulder injury & is hoping to figure prominently in the run in as jovetic. so all in all if this is true at least we have a virtual full squad available 4 the last 2 games.

Norwich held Chelsea to a goalless draw, decent result for us! Just need Liverpool to lose tomorrow and we'd have to throw it away.

Re: Dare to Hope
Yeah, I know what you're sayin.
If we don't win our last 2 games, then we don't deserve it imo....they're gonna be cagey, tense and somewhat nerve-wrackin games, but we should have more than enough to win.
