Quick question
Q. How did Denis Law score 6 goals for City in 1 game, yet still ended up on the losing side?

Re: Quick question
Did he have a penalty re-taken 5 times???
When you say game, do you include any replays like in the old days of the cup when you could go on and on with replays?

Re: Quick question
No this was 1 game and has nothing to do with re-taken penalties.....all 6 were legitimate goals.

Re: Quick question
Wasn't that game replayed after it was abandoned...but they replayed it from the start, rather than when it was abandoned?
Can't remember whether it was a cup or league game, or who it was against...but seem to remember that's how he ended up on the losing side.

Re: Quick question
Correct blue.
A. Denis Law once scored 6 goals for Manchester City in an FA Cup tie against Luton Town on January 28th 1961 but still finished on the losing side!
That fourth round tie at Kenilworth Road was abandoned after 69 minutes because of a waterlogged pitch with City winning 6-2 and Law having scored all their goals. The two sides had to start again from scratch on February 1st and this time Luton emerged as the winners, by a 3-1 margin, with Denis Law again scoring for City.
