A true Wednesday legend - a winger my Dad talked about constantly (or an inside forward) as they used to say.
RIP Johnny.

Sorry there's no 606OwlsLegends to post on.

Always sad to hear a legend of our game has passed on no matter which club they were associated with.
RIP Johnny !

No apology necessary, Wensdi. We support legends of all clubs here. With the possible exception of ones who played for Trafford Rangers.

If I had the computer design skills of Vince, I'd make a banner just for you. Alas, I don't have such skills - as evidenced by the crappy edit when I extended our banner to include a few 70s legends - so it might not be forthcoming. Also, I don't know any Wednesday legends...

I guess the likes of Chris Waddle, Paulo di Canio and that Hurst fella that seemed to score a few will probably be atleast 3  Laughing Laughing

Big John Ritchie was a good striker, Peter Eustace good midfield player, Wensdi whatever happened to a young kid called Jack Whitham late 60's early 70's went to Liverpool never heard of him after that. I remember as a kid watching Wednesday play spurs the captain was Gary Megson's dad Don. They played in the old blue shirts with white sleeves then.

Don Megson was a Legend Skyblueoz (and Leo).  Don't know what happened to Jack Whitham - my brother would probably know.  Peter Swann, Tony Kaye, Jim McCalliog, Colin Dobson and of course Ron Springett (Goalie) all part of the team that my Dad so loved.

Shaken you beat me to it, Hirsty, Waddle etc. (90's).
Di Stefano got more newspaper coverage than Fants did though - LOL.

Oz - Whitham got a bad injury while at Liverpool, then signed for Cardiff for a bit.  Has had his own pub in Wadsley (Sheffield) for the last 10 years.
