Which famous footballer (now retired) has been involved with the most top 20 hits in the UK? This is a proper famous footballer, not someone released as a youngster.

When you say "involved", do you mean in any capacity and not just as a singer?
I'm tempted to say Chris Waddle.
I'm sure others will say Rod Stewart, but I'm sure he falls foul of your comment about being released as a youngster.

Well, yeah, there is that... But it is widely known he started out as a footballer (or at least, I knew that, and if I did, then so should everyone else!!), and he IS famous.
I'm tempted to say Glen Hoddle now. Him and Chris had a couple of singles together, but I don't know if Chris did more England records than Glen.
Glen Hoddle and Chris Waddle as a singing duo. The 80s really did trot out some musical shite. I blame Stock, Aitken and Waterman, not least because it's led us to Simon Fucking Cowell...
