True, but F1 is a single racing format with a dozen teams at most, so his sphere of influence is limited. Blatter is at the head of a global sporting organisation which impacts every country, thousands of clubs and millions of players, coaches and staff. Ecclestone, by comparison, is the head of Iceland's FA.

What are the International Associations getting out of voting him in every time he is up for re-election? If the majority are voting him in what is he promising them? I assume it is not the bigger European countries, more likely the smaller African/Asian members.
