Remember the 25 player rule?

Whatever we want from the summer transfer window, we can only declare a 25 man squad with at least 8 'home-grown' players.

I will suggest those players that are likely to remain (or be replaced like for like) for next season so we can see what space we have available:

Goalies: Hart (H-G), Taylor (H-G), Given (or replacement)
Defenders: Boateng, Boyata (H-G), Cunningham (H-G), Kolarov, Kompany, Lescott (H-G), Richards (H-G), Kolo, Zaba
Midfielders: Barry (H-G), AJ (H-G), MJ (H-G), DNJ, Milner (H-G), Silva, Yaya
Forwards: Tevez, Balotelli, Dzeko

I make that 22 players including 8 home grown players which would leave us free to get whoever we want from anywhere we like.

That would leave us with only 3 spaces in our 25 unless Roberto fancies ditching Cunningham and MJ.

Yep and getting rid of the side lined players would help a great deal though I see you have missed one glaring name in your starting line up. WOT NO JO!!!!!!!!

I'd like to see Kieran Trippier brought back into the fold now he's been in the U21 squad. Make or break time for MJ.

i think pre-season or the start of the season is make or break time for MJ.

We have until the day after the transfer window closes to name the squad.

Ahh I thought they had to be players through your youth academy.

The home grown players just have to be on the books of a club from england or wales for at least 36 months before their 21st birthday.

that's why it can be tight for some clubs like arsenal, though they have got better in that respect with wilshire, ramsey and walcott

Arsenal should be ok. They tend to get players around 16-18 so, although not English, most will probably qualify as home grown. As will the likes of Dennis Suarez and Karim Rekik who City have signed this summer.
