Watched the USA beat Panama in the semi's of the Gold Cup last night - nothing better on before you rip me a new one. Was very impressed with Freddy Adu who came on in the second half - it was his long pass to Donovan (and subsequently Dempsey's tap in) that gave them the lead. I guess Adu's been wandering in the wilderness for a while - but he looked good last night.

Not keen on Donovan - who seems to get all the glory over here - but have always liked Dempsey. I'm sure Lee will have a few reasons why I shouldn't like Dempsey though.

Wensdi, some good international games between unfancied nations and some crap ones between "star" clubs like Santos etc

Recently they (Fox) have been running classics - FA Cup matches - and then specials on one club. Caught the City classic - and of course they have had that other team (quiet neighbours). Its Weeds Utd tonight - do you remember Alan Clark - Lee? Owls fans hated Leeds - still do from the posts I read.

I am quite gob smacked - you haven't raised your objections to me liking Dempsey (the thug).

We got a good spanking most games last season ShakenCity. I read today that an Owls player had been arrested for arson. He could have used his talent to set League One on fire instead. I remember the days we used to beat the rags regularly. ha ha

Hopefully we'll suprise a few teams this season. Uddersfiels and Sheff Weds in the 1st 3 games, tough start for us.

Lee was it Chris Woods or Martin Hodge? Maybe Peter Springett - although he was never as good as Ron

Trevor Francis - greatest player ever for City IMO - although they couldn't afford to keep him long at the time. Loved him at Hillsborough too - he is revered.

My ex (who's married to my best mate now) is a Weds fan, that's the only reason i want to beat them.

If it wasn't for Weaver last season we would have too.

Soz Shaken. Wednesday is my first love - my Dad, brother and me all went back in the day. Of course raising my two sons in Manchester led me to City who we have followed forever (together). My brother allows me this 'lapse' as he calls it - but I know he always checks to see if City has won.

I'm still friendly with my ex and her family and we were all looking forward to going for a few drinks before the Gigg fixture, but sadly they are away in August when it's being played.
We'll have to look at the Hillsborough fixture now, but with it being on a Tuesday night, that may be a doubt for us all too.
I've alot of respect for Weds fans after last season Wensdi, they gave our players a standing ovation at the end of the game. So apart from our games, i really do wish you lot the very best this season .

I read a couple of posts on 606 from Owls fans who said that they only had respect for City in the Prem - as the fans were not glory hunters but die hards - having followed City thru thick and thin in the lower leagues

I will say one thing about the Wensdi fans - they have the best sense of humour I have ever seen - their articles on 606 were so hilarious - but there again Brits have the best sense of the humour in the world - never fails to me make me laugh.
