Rafa? Seriously is that the best we can do?
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/430754/EXCLUSIVE-Liverpool-Rafa-Benitez-Manuel-Pellegrini-Man-City
I know it's a comic and not serious journalists but is this the best we can expect?
Although would prefer him to the old stubborn duffer there at the moment.

But who is there blisterin.....that we can seriously get?
The good thing about Benitez is he has PL experience, which I think counts for a lot. He's done well at the clubs he's been too...and he really hasn't had the money that the likes of Guardiola has had...or had the teams he's inherited.
Tbh, I'm coming round to the idea of Benitez managing City.....it could prove to be a very very good decision.

I think pep will wait for the utd job
Not a fan of Simeone, seems like a bellend and don't like his style of football either, certainly wouldn't suit City without a wholesale player exodus

Good thinking about Viera as No. 2, it's obvious he is going to manage us one day so probably an ideal start. Rafa did a good job steadying Chelsea with horrible behaviour from the Chav fans.
Maybe not as crazy as I first thought? Doesn't his family still live in the North West?

no please not benitez. yes he did ok but come on he had money at Liverpool and came with the likes of igor biscan, Voronin, djimi traore the but of many Liverpool jokes, a couple of Norwegians whose names totally escape me ryan babel, david ngog and many more oh yeah la tallec. koeman from saints would be a good punt or Ancellotti.

Yes, Oz, but he'll also have money here. And he did oversee Liverpool win the CL despite being 3-0 down at half time and they did a lot better in the CL with him there. And he got Chelsea a Europa League when they had nothing left to play for and everyone at the Bridge booing him just for being there.
And he also brought in Riise.
Seriously, I know he's had some bad press over here, but I don't think he was as bad as people said. And he'd be a damn sight better than what we have now.

Seriously? When will all this happen then? Before the end of the season - or after when we've won nowt?

Re: Rafa? Seriously is that the best we can do?
my point leo was that he hardly spent the money he had wisely, an awful lot for very mediocre players. He did well in cups granted but in my book the trophy I would want every time is the premier league. Rafa was ok in knockout comps but only threatened realistically once for the prem league. I would not want rafa to me it smacks of average ambition. Yes he is a capable manager but not to take us to the heights we dream of for that I think as stated pep, Ancelotti or possibly koeman given the impressive job he has done at Southampton.
