Who is the most important person at the club?

By far the most important person at the football club these last few years isn't the manager, the CEO or the Director of Football. The top accountant has had the most influence by far.

This may change somewhat now that we have so much more money coming into the premier league because of the tv deal (and the CL tv deal). This extra money really does blast FFP with both barrels.

Let's say that the tv deals together offer about £70M extra each season. Our other deals are worth £30M extra to us. If we got 5 players on 5 year contracts, we could spend £250M on these new players and pay them all £200k per week and we'd still be on the right side of FFP.

If we do swap Dzeko, Jovetic and £20M for Pogba, then the money men should be involved again. If their book values are £10M each, do we sell them at a profit of £10M each (ie sell them for £20M each) and help our profit and loss account right now, or do we sell them at book value (£10M) and that would make Pogba's transfer fee £40M which would benefit our P7L account to the tune of £4M a season for 5 years?

It's giving me a headache and I used to be an accountant!
