Derby - Live thread
First topic message reminder :
Right now, I'd take a boring 0-0. We need something from this game if only to keep the teams below us at bay.

Gary Nevill actually said in the article I read that Toure and Fernandiho were left isolated after they went ahead and were outnumbered in Midfield because Milner pushed higher up instead of marking Carrick and Aguero also pi he'd higher up. Neville said he felt sorry for Toure and no MF player in the world can ah against 4 in midfield

Re: Derby - Live thread
The problem i see is we don't press for the ball when we haven't got it, which allows the opposition time and space to look up and pick their passes. As soon as we had the ball, Utd were all over us. Ultimately, they had the hunger n desire and wanted the win much more than us....which was so disappointing considering the start we had. Where was the work ethic throughout the team to stop Utd getting on top and getting back into the game from the whole team....it was non-existant....from the 9th minute on, we were 2nd best.
As i've said all season, Toure plays (and is continually allowed to) way way too deep which allows too much free space infront of him and Fernandinho....which no-one else fills.
Don't get the Milner/Carrick thing, as Milner was wide left and Carrick in the middle....if anyone should have stopped Carrick playing it out from the back it should have been Silva.

Agree. Why would Milner have marked Carrick? Phil Neville's a prick if he feels sorry for a £220k pw wanker who strolls about the place, rarely tackles or jumps for a header and brings FUCK ALL to the team...and frankly, looks like doesn't give a shit whether he does or he doesnt.

When I was watching the first 15 minutes or so, the commentator said that Milner and Silva were switching around and putting pressure on Carrick.
Whatever, we were all over them the first 10 minutes for sure and the old city would have murdered them.

The old City, yes. But this current lot had no chance. United got a lucky bundled goal and our heads dropped. Why? We're barely 15 minutes into the game, they scored from a fluke, so why lose the plot like that?
There is something very wrong and it's not complacency, like the last Mancini season. This is something else. I couldn't believe they wouldn't keep on fighting in a derby. Shocking.
