The cost of the course is less than £5k for current Licensed FA coaches and £6.5k for non members.
The majority of coaches throughout the leagues have come from a footballing background - most as ex players at different levels.
Players for the past 20 years have made very decent money from the game - so to go and do their badges shouldn't be a financial issue. It's not purely on invitation only - anybody can do it.
If you look at the number of 'black' players in football in the UK, most teams are made up with a significant percentage of 'black', or overseas players - so why aren't they going into coaching after football?
More me, they don't need the money. Only those with a real desire to be a coach do it.
I just don't buy this "we don't have enough black coaches and Managers" debate. If anybody wants to pay for and complete their badges - then it's open to all.

There may be some prejudice around, but not enough to stop you if you are good enough. There are plenty of jobs. If you're good enough.
