He doesnt feel he should have been sent off because he didnt hear the whistle.

Personally I dont feel he should have been sent off. It was an act of frustration at being caught off side and a little leniency should have been applied too the letter of the law.

But come on... if you didnt hear the whistle why was the shot so off target and why didnt you carry on for 5 more yards and slot it past the goalie.....dont tell fibs, its not nice.

Still dont think it effected the result though, but he was unlucky to go.

Normally I like British clubs to do well in Europe, apart from United but last night I was pleased that Barcelona went through. They were a different class & put the World's Greatest Team (T.M.) to shame
The sending off was a bit harsh but I think the ref had his eye on Van Pussy after the handbags from earlier & he is a slimey twat so fair's fair

Am a bit iffy about that, arry is a good cup tactician and the closer they get to winning it then 2 things happen.

We have to finnish third and the spuds would be even more insufferable if thats possible.

They apparently lost Matt Mills to injury last night though. Should remove the ex-player coming back to haunt us scenario.

By the letter of the law he had to go and I don't think it's a good idea to apply leniency coz if you do that then leniency will be called on to be applied to everything.

In any case any proper club would do things the right way and suss out the ref before the game to see what the ref is like such as... Is he a stickler for applying the rules?

If he is then surely Wenger would have sounded out his players and told them to be vigilant and Van Persie would have been more careful in his actions.

I think it's such a shame the referee is getting so much stick for applying the rules that he's supposed to and the media are generally ignoring how good a display it was from Barcelona on the night and how brilliant a team they are.

They are simply a joy to watch, a pleasure to behold...

It's a pleasure to be alive to witness what Barcelona are doing, a pleasure to watch such beauty.
