excellent article on aguero and tevez
good piece in the torygraph saying that tevez may got to Inter for £30M cash and a write off of £13M from the Balotelli deal.
Let's do it!
Agüero arrived in Manchester from Buenos Aires on Wednesday morning and
travelled to the city’s Bridgewater Hospital just after 10am for a
three-hour medical, which he is believed to have passed, before adjourning
for lunch and moving on to the club’s stadium for talks over his five-year,
£150,000-a-week contract.
Manchester
City were finalising the details of that contract, as well as
completing the final paperwork with the player’s current club, Atlético
Madrid, but do not anticipate any hitches.
Although the forward last night tweeted he was “already a City player [and]
happy to be in this club and in this city,” the deal is not yet complete,
though no hitches are expected.
Atlético’s manager, Gregorio Manzano, has already bemoaned that he feels the
23 year-old might have found a more “professional” way to leave Spain.
Agüero may even be included in Roberto Mancini’s squad for the final
instalment of City’s pre-season preparations, the Dublin Super Cup at the
Aviva Stadium, for which the Premier League team will travel to Ireland
tomorrow.
Indeed, City rather mysteriously included the provision for a “plus one”
striker when submitting their squad list to the tournament’s organiser,
though it is believed no firm decision has yet been made.
Should the Argentine, fresh from the Copa America, be granted the weekend to
arrange affairs in Spain, he will return to training on Monday, the same
date given to his countryman Tévez when he departed Manchester for
international duty at the end of last season.
The likelihood of the 27 year-old fulfilling that commitment is receding,
though, after it emerged his long-term suitors, Inter, are exploring the
possibility of persuading City to part with him for rather less than the £50
million the Premier League side have consistently stipulated, despite his
persistent indications that he wishes to leave.
Sources in Italy believe Inter will offer City around £30 million for their
captain, but will attempt to bridge the gap in valuations by agreeing to
write off the £13 million still owed by the Premier League team for the
transfer of Mario Balotelli last summer.
Some reports last night suggested the Argentine, who had been photographed
with Inter sporting director Marco Branca while on holiday in Sardinia this
week, may have travelled to Milan for talks with the Italian side along with
his representative, Kia Joorabchian.
Inter’s owner, the oil tycoon Massimo Moratti, has been at pains to distance
the club from a move for Tévez in recent weeks, insisting that the player’s
wages of around £230,000 a week and City’s refusal to budge from their
valuation made the transfer impossible in a year when he is attempting to
bring Inter’s spending in line with Uefa’s looming Financial Fair Play
rules.
That Moratti is considering a move for Tévez, even at a slightly reduced cost,
has been seen in Italy as evidence that two of the club’s current highest
earners – Holland international Wesley Sneijder and Brazilian full-back
Maicon, both of whom are paid around £190,000 a week before tax – are on the
cusp of being sold.
Sneijder is a long-term target for Manchester United, who have indicated they
may make one more “world-class” signing this summer, while Maicon is
expected to be reunited with his former manager Jose Mourinho at Real
Madrid.
The Bernabeu club were thought to be City’s main competition for Aguero,
though the player’s delight at moving to England, rather than across the
Spanish capital, was evident.
He took to Twitter after landing in England, writing: “Just landed in
Manchester to finalise the details of the offer with the City. Everything is
fine! In a while I’ll tell you more.”
Agüero, who consulted compatriot and City defender Pablo Zabaleta before
completing his move, was equally keen to meet and greet his new supporters.
He happily signing autographs outside the Bridgewater Hospital, as well as
making a point of signing something for each of the dozens of fans who had
waited at the Etihad Stadium for several hours for a glimpse of the most
expensive player in the club’s history.
The player’s former team-mate, Diego Forlan sounded less than convinced as he
wished the striker well on his move to the Premier League.
“If he is happy with the decision he has taken, then he knows what he is
doing,” said Forlan.
Let's do it!

Re: excellent article on aguero and tevez
The Corrintians story has come up again for january and tbh Dawg I really hope thats the one that comes off. We get to see both Tevez & Aguero play for us between now and xmas which could be either complete pants as they compete rather than play for each other or a complete dream.

Re: excellent article on aguero and tevez
We won't see Tevez again, which is a shame, but I don't think it's him personally he's not that intelligent. It's his plum of an agent Kia Ora that drives all this. The sooner we are shot of any dealing with Kia Ora the better. Anyway he's such a good agent his advice to Sparky Hughes in the summer worked well !! 10% of Unemployed must be nice :-)
On another note I know it's just the Metro but this quote made me chuckle, seems we have an instant replacement for Tevez
"Manchester City's new £200,000-a-week signing Sergio Aguero has vowed to revolutionise the club, calling himself the Che Guevara of football. "

Re: excellent article on aguero and tevez
is it worth the risk lee?
i'd expect tevez to play his best regardless so it could well be magic.
the deal i'd like to see is us get sneidjer and a write off of the £13M outstanding on Balotelli. That's the best part of £48M.
That's get us an excellent player, good value for tevez and piss all those rags off.
then i'd like nasri to sign a pre-contract agreement for us in january.
that's be dream team territory with a midfield of NDJ, Yaya, Silva, Nasri and sneidjer!

Re: excellent article on aguero and tevez
Is it worth the risk, I think only mancini will know that after training together. I do however think he will bring the most out of Silva and vice versa with them both having played in same league allbeit in differing teams
