Frampton v Quigg
Watched the 45 min lead up interview between the two of them on SS1 last night after the game.
Oooo...some bad blood between them. Should make for a cracking fight.
He's come a long way Den - will you be watching?

Yep, i'll be purchasing the fight.
Not seen the build up yet, as i forgot to tape it after the City game....but will watch it at some point.
Quigg should prove to be too big and strong for Frumpton, so it's Quigg by KO in 4 for me....hopefully.

Can see it going late - Framptom's a good boxer, but I think Quigg's fitness and durability will wear him down late on on.
10th round stoppage for Quigg for me.
Should be a cracker.

Re: Frampton v Quigg
This is an absolute no-brainer. Frampton has had a long and illustrious career and even has a Gibson guitar made especially for him. Whereas Quigg was some ginger kid off of X Factor who Harry Hill mercilessly lampooned on TV Burp several years ago. I can't even see how there'd be any animosity there, unless Frampton is annoyed at not getting name checked by the big collared baldy.

TBF...if you watch the pre-fight build up, both accuse each other of the same thing, without really giving much evidence other than a "I know someone who said..."

Re: Frampton v Quigg
All these pre-fight build ups are the same tbh blue.....we all know it's all to do with selling the fight.
Would they really be sat in the same room around a table before the fight otherwise?

Watched it last night, as i did the press conference too. Good watch, but just too much of the usual shit thrown in.
Still convinced Quigg will be too strong. I see his team too are predicting an early KO for Quigg....well i guess they would wouldn't they

Yeah, saw the Belfast presser....after Frampton apologised for his language etc in Manchester - see he was back to usual self in Belfast in front of his own crowd.

Re: Frampton v Quigg
Weigh in later.
Just listened to Barry McGuigan and now listening to Eddie Hearn on TS.
Barry McGuigan saying "if we don't get the home dressing room, the fights off"....fucking mard-arse.
Hearn saying "they threatened us 3 times that the fight will be off if we don't have Frampton's name first, he's on the left on the poster, he walks to the ring second...they're completely out of their comfort zone and panicking. Talk of a Frampton injury is rife on social media, so they are trying to grab every single bit of advantage they can. We'll probably just say lock the door to that room, let's crack on with it...Scott's not bothered, it's just the principal and they're spooked".

No wind up. I seem to have a healthy dislike of both men. Let's just hope it's a good fight.

Re: Frampton v Quigg
Disappointing.
The first 6 rounds were like watching paint dry. Quigg let off very little, but when he did he connected Frampton looked busy, but apart from a few jabs, missed with his shots.
Then Quigg was told by his corner that Sky had Frampton 6-1 up (wtf?)...his face said it all, then Quigg won rounds 8-11, with the last being a draw and hurting Frampton in the 11th.
Ended up a split decision - with the deciding yank giving it 116-112 to Frampton.
I thought it was a draw, so did Froch and Jim Watt.
Just wish Quigg would have started a bit quicker.
Both looked nervous until the later rounds. Shame....the pre-match build up probably contributed to it.

Didn't watch the fight, but Quigg left it too late.
Good chance of a rematch.

Think it's guaranteed...especially when last week, Eddie Hearn said this could be a 3 match fight....
Does make you wonder.

Summed up perfectly blue.
No complaints from me, Scott left himself with too much to do. I just wish he'd have shown a bit more aggression in those early rounds....Frampton was initiating the early exchanges (rounds 1-4), that ultimately was the deciding factor on the scorecards.
Whether there's a re-match is up for debate, if it's not in the contract I can personally see Frampton looking at other fights.

Re: Frampton v Quigg
Whatever he decides, Rigondeaux would destroy both fighters on last nights showing....really can't see Frampton wanting to fight him...so another big money rematch would be far easier.

Re: Frampton v Quigg
TBF...I think that was always on the cards. Like I said, neither would survive 5 rounds with Rigondeaux, and to be honest, the way his title was stripped was a disgrace, just to get this fight on.
He's seriously good.

Frampton would....he'll negotiate a bigger pay day as the champion. He'll earn absolutely nowhere near the money he would for a rematch.

Re: Frampton v Quigg
Well, well, well....
It now seems that Frampton has been ordered to defend his title against Rigondeaux before the end of June, or relinquish his titles.
Rigondeaux is a horrible fighter. He'll destroy Frampton. Let's see how tough Frampton is now!!
Rigondeaux is a brilliant story though for those who don't know about him. Look him up, look his story up. Dressing up as woman to escape Castro and Cuban authorities, took a drug mules speedboat to Miami...won the title after only 6 fights.
They claim he's an animal. Compared to when H Cooper's manager was asked if Henry would fight Sonny Liston, he told reporters, "I hope Henry never has to meet Sonny Liston walking down the street, never mind fight him"....well that's what they compare the meeting of Quigg or Frampton v Rigondeaux too.
Let's see the loud mouthed Belfast kid and his loud mouthed team wriggle out of this one!!

It'll be a walk in the park. The other kid is too slow, can't punch....Rigondeaux will destroy him from start to finish - all 3 rounds.
