Team vs Wolves
First topic message reminder :
Wolves are doing well int he championship and we can't take this game as an easy win. A victory and we would be in the q/f of our 4th choice competition.
Bravo
Danilo, Tosin, Mangala, Zinchenko
Sterling, Gundogan, Yaya, Bernardo
Aguero, Diaz
All the quality is in the front 6 which is a worry. It would have been better to have that idiot Kompany in defence to make it much stronger but the fool is still struggling from that Gibraltar game.

BBC Reckon there is a massive fire near the ground that is causing traffic chaos.
Good luck to all trying to get there

Been in the car for nearly 2 hrs. Took a friend to hathersage road, then to a nearby Tesco and back to hathersage road. 3 fucking hours

The fire was this morning, but they've closed off a load of roads around it. It was a nightmare!

Re: Team vs Wolves
Wish I was still stuck in traffic!!
That was fucking garbage!
TLMLF slows everything down. Gundogan plays with his head down...Sterling made about 10 runs and only once did he see him.
Bernardo is still yet to impress.
Overall, only good point was Bravo's save!!!!

Fuck me, Bravo is the hero & man of the match. Looks like we still have to do everything the hard way

Re: Team vs Wolves
Well well well Clownio is the hero. Fair play to him he had a torrid time last season but today he's redeemed himself big time. For now I will no longer call him Clownio.
Missed most of the game as couldn't get a decent stream so how did we do? Sounds like we massively struggled with a pretty strong side. Why???

Re: Team vs Wolves
Bravo saved on a bunch of one on ones then did himself proud in the penalty shoot out. Mangala was wank, Zinchenko did really well until extra time when a lack of match fitness let him down ditto Gundogan who suffered mucle cramps at the end.

Re: Team vs Wolves
Wolves played pretty well. They set up up be defensive and hit us on the break. Zinchenko did himself no harm. Neither did Tosin. Mangala has a mistake or two in him, though he’s quick and strong to help himself recover. But he’s also too ponderous on the ball. No confidence in him at all. Still can’t see Tosin making it though. Yaya’s time was over last season. He’s too slow and his dive was so outrageous I just started laughing. It was a massive step up in confidence, calmness and quickness when kev and stones came on. We looked so much better. And Sane too. Sterling had his defenders on toast for 30 minutes but seemed to fade away on the 2nd half. Bravo was brilliant.

But the crowd around me were some of the most ignorant I’ve come across at a city game.

Re: Team vs Wolves
Only just walked through the door! Jesus, that was a long day!
Thought Tosin did OKish. He looks a bit like Bambi on Ice. Made one or two decent blocks inside the box.
Manga got turned on a couple of occasions but used his speed to get back.
TLMLF was a fucking embarrassment...end of.
Gundogan. Made one or two mazy runs, but overall, I thought his distribution was average. Too slow on the ball and a little negative for large parts of the game.
Agree, Zinchenko did well...but he crosses like Navas!
Bernardo still is a long way of a £43m player.
Thought Danilo had a decent game, shame about his knock.
We looked so much better with Stones, Sane and KDB on the pitch.
BUT....for Bravo, we could easily have been 3 nil down. 3 fantastic saves....then the whole penalty shootout heroics. MOTM...and that shows you how poor we were in front of goal.
Long bloody day though...rounded off with a cheeky pen from Sergio!
Zzzzzzz

Wasn't staying up to follow this one, good to still be in for the fringe players but not really a priority. Would be nice to get Rags next though just for the crack

Re: Team vs Wolves
it was intersting to hear Pep talking about the ball in the league cup being crap..
I was right behind the goal and bravo had it one point of the first half I thought the ball was flat or knackered, just from the sound of it..
interesting they don't use the same balls across the league.

Re: Team vs Wolves
It would appear we and Arsenal got the mickey mouse Cup subs rules wrong. 3 in normal time and one extra in extra time. We did 2 + 2 which is wrong apparently.

Re: Team vs Wolves
my understanding of the rule was simply that if it goes to extra time you can make 4 subs instead of the usual 3..?
sounds like they worded it to give an additional one then if you use 3 in regulation time...

Re: Team vs Wolves
10.2 Where any match goes to extra time (in accordance with the provisions of Rules 14.4, 14.5 and/or 14.6), then subject to the League having obtained the prior approval of the International Football Association Board (IFAB) to the application of this Rule, each Club participating in that match will be permitted to use an additional substitute (in extra time only).
sounds to me that 2+2 is perfectly fine under that wording...

Sounds like wishful thinking from the tabloids that thought we would be kicked out.

Re: Team vs Wolves
also in earlyer rounds I think somebody made all 4in in extra time, so it's a nothing story...
oh, and they have defended the crap balls, stating it's used in checktrade trophy and lower leagues. etc etc etc..
Yaya also said it's worse than the world cup flop ball a few years ago..

Re: Team vs Wolves
Yet, Pep in his presser said "I can complain about the ball as we won, but if we lost, I wouldn't, as it'd be making excuses."....but the media miss out on this. Just, "Pep moans about the ball and makes excuses for Wolves taking City to penalties"!!
I thought Wolves deserved the win last night. But they couldnt get past Bravo, so tough shit!! As Maureen says...you defend well, it's looked upon unfavourably"...well that includes your keeper having a great game as well folks!!

Yeah, that was Leeds in the last round, I believe.Moonchester wrote:also in earlyer rounds I think somebody made all 4in in extra time, so it's a nothing story...
I had tickets for this match (in my usual seats in block 116) but I felt like crap last night and decided against going. I fell asleep listening to it on the radio, so it was clearly a really entertaining match! I woke up in time for the penalties, which appears like it was the only joy to be had in over two hours. I think the combination of ill, traffic problems, poor football, rain, cold and a late finish would've finished me off completely!

It finished me off.....was up at 06;00 to take my lad to Uni yesterday, then got in bed at 01:30 this morning.....then up at 05:45 to be at a meeting in Manchester this morning.
Feel like shit! Just had a glass of Cava with my dinner....and that has finished me off. Bed is calling.....

Re: Team vs Wolves
when you look at debruyne's free kick and toures the ball went sailing over the bar by some distance. Pep was on about how light the ball was, I think there maybe something in that, also sane's penalty only just went under the bar. their keeper had a few smart saves to make, also so I cant see how they supposedly dominated the the game. Yes they had the clearer chances. Full credit to them for the way they played and being as resolute. But a full strength side & a premier league match ball would be enough to see them off.
