City v Burnely - Team??? Empty City v Burnely - Team???

Wonder how he'll line up? We'll get an idea of which cup means more if he picks a weakened team over the Bristol game.

For me, I'd stick with a strong team for Burnely and keep the kids for Bristol over 2 legs. If he goes for a weakened team on Saturday, I'd go for this:

Bravo
Danilo, Stones, Yoyo, Zinchenko
Gundogan, TLMLF
Sane, Bernard, Diaz

I'd hope for a stronger team against Burnley. Take everything game by game with an eye on Liverpool. I'd play a strong team against Burnley and a half strength against Bristol City. if we beat Burnley, we might get an easy tie at home to get us to the 5th round.

I'd decide who was irreplaceable and then work backwards.

Kompany should be back so we could actually rest Otamendi anyway.

I'd go with a strong team for Burnley as the LC is 2 legs & we'l need
every1 at their very best for LPoo. The B team will have to try and batter Bristol in the 1st leg
so we don't need to use 1st teamers in the 2nd leg
I'd imagine Burnley won't play their 1st team so hopefully we can put the tie to bed in the 1st half
& then take off whoever needs the most rest

Yep those would be my teams although if possible I wouldn't want Sterling playing twice before LPoo
Would be fantastic if he bagged a a couple against them as you can bet your life they'll give him a typically vile Dipper welcome

Sterling is the one player that I think can handle all the games. Missed him at palace until he came on.

haven't seen any update on him, either way, no need to risk him when Danilo can cover over there.

City v Burnely - Team??? Empty Re: City v Burnely - Team???

We're at home for the first leg of the LC semi, and either side of the second leg we're hosting Newcastle and West Brom, so my thoughts are this:

Strong side against Burnley to get through to the next round of the FAC

Bristol first leg, play a few of the kids and rest key players.

Liverpool, the strongest team we can muster.

We can rotate players for the next three games, which should be enough.  If we were dropped by Bristol by more than the odd goal, maybe focus more on that one and look to rest players in the other two games.

We have six days to rest players between Liverpool and Newcastle, so there shouldn't be any problems there.

We're sufficiently far ahead in the league to withstand dropping a couple of points and we should have enough quality to not get beaten by either Newcastle or West Brom.  Not that I can see either side even trying to attack us at our place.

Other than that, it's fingers crossed we don't pick up any injuries.

Actually, thinking about it, we've got 8 days between the LC second leg and the Baggies, so we probably don't even need to rotate that much!

The most important games for me are the Burnley and Liverpool ones. We should not be losing or drawing at home to BC regardless of the team we put out. Doesn't mean we should be taking them lightly though.

Absolutely.  In fact, the only game we should be genuinely concerned about is Liverpool, as Anfield hasn't ever been a happy hunting ground for us.  I say "concerned" rather than "worried" as even losing there wouldn't be the end of the world.

With so many games at home, we are in a much better position to emerge with wins than we would have been on the road.  If we box those off, then the second leg of the LC could well be a dead rubber, meaning we've only really got one truly difficult game.  Which isn't bad, considering.

We shouldn't be losing against Bristol City but then again look at how wolves performed, also it is 1 game shy of a Wembley final so Bristol will be more than up for it. It will be a lot tougher than we think. I reckon pep will go strong in the 1st leg try & get the job done. He will be craving his 1st piece of silver wear in England
