Martin Glenn...compares the yellow ribbon to an ISIS badge

So, the head of the FA says that Spaniards are pissed off with it....
He says that poppies are OK...as it's not a political symbol - really Martin?
What a twat.

This is the Chief Executive of the FA, not some journo....you can't come out and claim Spaniards are pissed off....that shows you've chosen a political side. Embarrassing, but are we surprised?

I think this is all the rag numpty Gill driving it. It's simply to piss Pep off. I am so glad pretty much all fans apart from the rancid rags are behind Pep on this though, it will fizzle out hopefully.

He's wearing it on his own jumper, it's not displayed on club kit or "football equipment" and therefore not comparable to the poppy issue on shirts. Star of David, UKIP, ISIS, SWASTIKA and MUGABE?? are just incredibly stupid things to say and much more likely to "Piss more people off than a simple yellow ribbon demonstrating a personal view to which he is entitled as we all are. I think this oaf has alienated far more people than Pep's yellow ribbon.

Agree MCM.
However, the poppy is a political symbol AND IS WORN ON A KIT.
Glenn's argument is that the yellow ribbon is a political symbol which isn't allowed under their new amendment to Rule 4.

i have no argument that it is a political symbol, it clearly is! However, it's not worn on club kit/equipment.
As far as i am aware, no complaints were received, certainly very few if any, regarding the poppies worn on shirts situation.
The main source of any complaints would, you would assume, be from Germany, Japan, Turkey and others on the opposing side during the 2 world wars. However, the countries concerned made no representation to FIFA or the FA regarding this matter so why make a mountain out a molehill? If the had been inundated with complaints then fair enough but it wasn't an issue until they made it into one !

So, let me get this straight. La Liga calls MCFC all sorts of names and the FA said what???
