Man City XI vs. Lyon
A lot of injuries so this is a difficult one, but with some limited rotation in mind this is my best quests. Delph to replace Ferna for the last 25mins.
Ederson,
Danilo, Stones, Laporte, Zinky
Fernandinho,
Foden, Silva (C),
Sane, Mahrez,
Aguero

Did Danny travel?
Otherwise your team looks sound. Can see Laporte being rested, maybe Kompany gets a run.

Yeah I figured Walker needed a rest & Danillo needs game time. If we manage to go far in both cup competitions then that’s a lot of games coming up over the holidays.

No start for Foden, but as this is not a dead rubber I suppose that’s not a massive surprise.

Re: Man City XI vs. Lyon
There’s a few moaning on Twitter that Foden’s not starting. One clown suggesting he should go out on loan. His time will come and he’s in exactly the right place already. Looks a strong starting XI, get the job done and hopefully he gets 20-30 mins second half.

He’ll get plenty of game time over the busy Holiday especially if we stay in the cup competitions.

Looks like we have Laporte to thank for it still being 0-0. This is not going to be a walk in the park. Shaktar winning 2-1 in Germany is the good news so far

Worst half hour of the season so far. Lucky not to be two down already.

We will win this, too many sitters missed by them. If Mahrez had his shooting boots on we would be up anyway.

How are we still in this? Can only get better second half, surely.

Re: Man City XI vs. Lyon
am I the only one watching this thinking why the hell is Sterling inside and Mahrez on the wing..
would be 50% better easily switching them 2 over.
Other than that we just seem laboured in our passing, I think the pitch is heavy as hell, it's rolling and cutting up all over the place, so if that has something to do with our game not flowing fully?

Re: Man City XI vs. Lyon
They've looked better than us so far. They missed 3 very good chances. Unfortunately all 3 of our good chances have come to Mahrez on his left foot as well Not seen much good from him or Sane. Pep needs to take off Ferdy cos this ref will send him off. Brilliant by Laporte so far. Hopefully Lyon will drop off the pace a bit second half & we'll take advantage.

Yeah the ref is know to be card happy & Ferna is destined to get a 2nd yellow IMO. Delph on for Ferna is my hope. Unfortunately its now 2-2 in the other game.

Laporte showing the French just how good he is. Expect a call-up is imminent.

Zinky not really good enough for me, but good response and think we will nick the win.

Re: Man City XI vs. Lyon
Much better second half but a bit of a reality check after the easy stroll we’ve had in the Prem of late. Don’t think any of the front five were great, Laporte was a beast though.

Re: Man City XI vs. Lyon
Would be really harsh if Lyon didn’t get through, but we don’t really want to be playing them again in the latter stages. Too many draws so their own fault really.

Good draw in the end. Disappointed with Mahrez. Laporte was outstanding. Good side Lyon I'm amazed they have been drawing against the other 2 teams in the group.
