Re: SPURS v CITY
there were a couple of rumours doing the rounds that Aguero might not be fully fit still.
Not sure we should risk him at this stage if he's still carrying that potential muscle strain.
If he is fit, he starts :p
is Danilo injured? I might have been very very drunk on Saturday and can't remember him picking up an injury? would go with him left back and Stones/Laporte in centre half.
don't think we have any suspensions..

That team, but I have a feeling that Mendy might play a part although he’s not fully match fit as I think his crosses might cause Spurs some problems

This must be the only game we aren't calling a "must-win" in this run-up to the end of the season!

I think you may see Laporte switch to left back. Kompany in the centre with either stones or otamendi. Came straight down to read the comments and have just scrolled up and seen rays team. Seems we are thinking alike.

Like Dawg's team. If Serge is not fit then the same team with Jesus

Re: SPURS v CITY
Time for Mahrez to step up in a big game. Tailor made to be replaced in the 2nd half by Sane if he doesn’t. Wonder why Bernado is not in the squad?

Missed that about Bernardo’s injury. Kevin on the bench makes sense as he’s just coming back from injury.

Jeez, 5 hrs 40 mins Failsworth to Colchester - just made it in time for kick off. There better be some booze in the house...

Need to score and then get back home. Can take a small loss in this one for me.

The bench looks better than the starting XI.

Shouldn’t have been given in the first place. VAR’s an ass.

2 pen misses could be our defining moments this season? Can't call this one, happy with 0-0 I guess.

Could’ve been better, could’ve been worse. Maybe more attacking threat in the last 25 mins with KDB and Leroy coming on?

This isn't a time to be dipping in form. This isn't the end of the world but not at our best

The one game in the run-in I suppose we could afford to lose narrowly. Just don’t think we were positive enough.

It's a small loss, they won't keep us out at home, just hope we keep them out

1-0 is nothing as long as we play our usual game at home. Totally not fussed

Disappointing. The one player that could have scared the crap out of em was given about 2 minutes at the end. Puzzling especially as he didn't play on Saturday.

Good subs at the end, but about 15mins too late to have any effect

Re: SPURS v CITY
As soon as I saw Delph at left back I feared the worst.
I'm with you Nijinsky, I would never (or could ever) question Pep, but I wish he would explain why he plays Delph in a position where he is found wanting time and time again.
Not a disastrous result, but the game was there for the taking. More frustrated than annoyed really.

Re: SPURS v CITY
Bizarre team selection.
Bizarre substitutions.
Said it so many times; whenever Ferna, David and Gundogan play together, we NEVER play well. Far too slow again.
Mahrez? Less said the better.
Over-thinking?
Thank god it was only 1-0. Still in the tie, but we have to play far better as that was a Brighton-esque performance - no threat whatsoever to Spurs.

Re: SPURS v CITY
I’m all for Pep’s squad rotating but it’s starting to get a bit too much and having an effect on team consistency in my opinion. The last 5 games have been wins but far from convincing performances. This is the business end of the season when we should be trying to play our strongest 11 in all competitions or making as few changes as possible. Put the game to bed and then make changes is a better option that the other way round. Mahrez is just not good enough and should never start another game of importance this season, which is basically all the remaining games.

Re: SPURS v CITY
The frustrating thing is, Mahrez is good enough.. but for some reason he doesn't work in our system..
If he'd been playing inside, with Sterling outside of him and Sane on the left from the off I think we could have cut through Spurs. (drop Gundo or Silva to the bench).
I just don't think Mahrez does the running to work the wide attack in our style of play.

Re: SPURS v CITY
Don't think Mahrez is intelligent enough to play in a Pep system. He resorts to basics whenever he gets the ball - put a shit cross in or play a simple ball backwards.

Re: SPURS v CITY
We have to keep a clean sheet and we have to score 2 or more to win this now. Lets hope Bernardo, David, Kevin and Sterling are all fit - and that Pep gives Sane another shot - as Mahrez just doesn't cut it.

Re: SPURS v CITY
really is 2 clear goals wins it... I think we can bag 3... that leaves Spurs having to net 2 or they go out,,
and if they push we can pick off more hopefully

Just got to be ruthless with our finishing. When the chances arrive we have to take them and not be so wasteful.
