City v Spurs
No Laporte,Mendy in the travelling squad
Ederson, Bravo, Carson
Garcia, Cancelo, Fernandinho, Otamendi, Zinchenko, Walker
Gundogan, De Bruyne, Foden, Rodri, Silva
Aguero, Jesus, Sterling, Mahrez, Bernardo
Hopefully Velma will be warming the bench rather than stinking the place out again
Team I’d like to see start
Ederson
Fernandinho Garcia Rodri
Walker Gundogan DeBruyne Zinchenko
Mahrez Aguero Bernardo
Sadly not a must win game anymore

It’s a must win game for me after another pathetic effort in the prediction league yesterday.

Yeah only 1 more important game this season, stopping dippers going unbeaten, media are unbearable as it stands now.

Re: City v Spurs
What is wrong with this team? Pep has to take some blame here, he has been found out this season and is too stubborn to win ugly. Dippers are masters of this, pep has to win with tiki taki style everytime. Glad it doesn't really matter now.

It might not matter now, but it still hurts to watch this rubbish

Re: City v Spurs
If we’d taken our chances 1st half none of this would be happening. Spuds have only had two shots in 80 mins and scored both. Happens too often these days.

What a freakin nightmare. Can't understand the "Pep's been found out" comment after all we have done and won over the last several years.

Wensdi we just can't win ugly, we have no plan B. How many more games like this one are we going to have?

I can only hope the plan is to lull Real in to think we are crap

I expect this will be described as a Mourinho masterclass by the media...

Re: City v Spurs
We are still 2nd in the table. It was a woeful game, I agree and we didn't convert on the penalty and Zinchenko got a second yellow - which was avoidable. Just wasn't our day. And yes we've had a few bad days lately but Pep is still the best around. No offence.

Re: City v Spurs
Thought we actually played pretty well for about an hour, just the finishing was woeful, not for the first time this season, nor even the first time this week! Two things we are rubbish at though are penalties, and playing with 10 men. All our pen takers seem to want to side-foot it at a nice height for the keeper, so if he guesses right he probably saves it. Can nobody just wellie it top bins. Bet Ederson could. The last two games aren’t going to define our season though, still plenty to be optimistic about.

Re: City v Spurs
I know wensdi, I hope pep is around for a long time, but this is his Achilles Heel, only once in 4 years has he tried to defend from the off, Dippers away last year. We don't score early we struggle. He needs to have a plan for this. Yet again a team scores on their first shot against us.

Re: City v Spurs
His reputation precedes him though with the success of his former clubs - and the way he sets up his teams. Successful in his previous seasons with us too. So, other than the fact Otamendi is past his sell by date and Stones has not been much better, we are dependent on Laporte and he's been out injured. Sane might have brought something to the table and we have never replaced Kompany. Sergio is only good at scoring, his passing etc. is woeful but he's superb in front of goal. We have a great team - hope Pep sees the problem - we hammered Villa, Watford etc., and we played well and dominated in the first half - just didn't put the penalty away. It all went pear shaped after the melee and Zinchenko got sent off.
Unfortunately, we have wasted so many opportunities in previous games and were sloppy in defence against Palace, Wolves and flipping Norwich. Maybe we can get Big Sam and he can save our season!! LOL

There is a good article (and thread) on JA 606 by Ripley's Cat on this very topic. Melton is also on there.

Says a lot when in the last 2 games the man of the match has been the opposing goal keepers.
