Doesn't matter what the score is today it's loose loose for us, if we win the press will call it a meaningless friendly, if we loose it will be the Champions of Europe add another piece of silverware to their collection.
Good luck Paul I can't imagine a worse day out than going to Wembley when it's full of dippers.

Excellent first half. Dippers looking dangerous at times, but City playing all the football.

Give stirling too much time to think and it's guaranteed he will miss

Dippers much better 2nd half, and City much worse. Don’t care what happens with the pens. We’re shit at taking them, Bravo’s usually decent at saving them.

Rodri looks a class act. Assured with some sweet passing and he's only 23.
Could have been ten each with better finishing.
When is Jesus going to learn the offside rule?
Some nasty lashing out from the dippers, but there again what do you expect? they're a nasty bunch.
Nice to beat them though whatever the CS means.

Re: Trophy defence no 1
Looking forward to the BBC article now on how Liverpool can win 6 trophies this season!
Never get too excited about the charity shield, but beating the media darlings is always beautiful.
Good first half, but obviously faded second half, but that won’t happen next week.
The big plus for me is Rodri, he looks like a great signing.
First trophy in the bag, happy days

Re: Trophy defence no 1
Wow, never seen so many dippers in one place. Plenty in the City end too. A little bit of aggro when they scored. Who'd celebrate when surrounded by opposition fans?
Game of two halves. We were well on top first half but didn't take our chances. They had a few and will always look dangerous when they lump the ball forwards for Salah and Firminho to chase.
@nd half they controlled without creating too much. They gave us no time on the ball (so why bring Gundogan on?) but we still had some good chances (Sterling!!!).
Bravo the hero again.

Re: Trophy defence no 1
It was inevitable we'd look tired in the second half. They replaced half their outfield players before we'd hit the 75 minute mark and we'd only made one sub and that was to take off Sane after his rather theatrical collapse.
Still, job done, dippers beaten before the season starts, a marker set and it's always good to go into the first game with a bit of silverware in the bag, even if it's only a meaningless friendly.

Well, no, it would be the first of a historic 7 trophy season, no doubt.
